Vespa gts steering bearing replacement

Replacement of the lower bearing of the steering rod of Vespa GTS.
In the video I will show step by step how to change the bearings on the steering shaft.
I unscrew the mirrors.
To begin with, I dismantle the plastics on the headlight.
I'm dismantling the mileage cable.
Unscrew the three bolts on the front fender.
I unscrew the bolts on the front wheel and remove it.
I disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper.
I unscrew the nuts on the steering rod and remove it.
I push the upper and lower steering bearing bracelets. I drive the new bearing bracelets.
In the opposite way, I reassemble everything.
The tools I use for disassembly are: hammer, chisel, mandrel for driving the bearing (key 32), motor jack, bearing grease, brake fluid dot 4, degreaser for brake discs, machine oil to lubricate the speedometer cable.

Great instructional video, but I would have had my scooter swathed in blankets to protect the paintwork as I am a bit anal & clumsy with things like this, those loose handlebars swinging around the toolbox....ouchhh!

Thank you for the comment! From behind, I put a white rag under the plastic of the glove compartment to protect the paint. It's nice to anticipate these things :) For this reason, after venting the front brake, I mounted the wheel. In order not to drip brake fluid and spoil the paint :)

Could you just pull the brake caliper? Not loving the idea of spilling brake fluid everywhere. Thanks for the video.

Unfortunately, there is no way for the brake caliper to go through the fender. For this, it is necessary to unscrew the brake hose.

Hello, it depends on how fast you work, for me about 40 minutes, but I have disassembled other times and I know the peculiarities of disassembling Vespa GTS parts.
