Run mental fortitude, power word shield yourself, and flash heal yourself 10% dr + fade 10% Dr before incoming damage. Not many guides mention how to survive as a spriest and not be a liability for your healer.

Not really.. played BM as my dps class since vanilla... it just got boring. On the other hand it sucks to not get invites at higher Keys because you are not meta

diurnas chosen wont generate that much damage so thats a bad pick if you are planning to get a ring. Best choice is Seal of Filial Duty for the heavy mastery with haste and an absorb shield chance whenever your Vakash or helm enchant procs(fire damage has a chance to proc the ring and those are the only two main ways to do it this season)

Agree with basically everything you said beside the class trinket, couldn't pay me to play with that trinket again. It's an incredibly low proc rate (1 per 3 minutes roughly) and if you use it in dungeons it can, and does, proc between packs let alone in your PI windows. M+ your 2nd trinket should be Tome or Pips and in Raid Suncaller, vessel (procs ring a for .5% overall more), or Pips.

Depends on the spell, Mind Flay: Insanity and Void torrent u kind of want to finish, but normal Mind Flays you just cancel with the instant casts

Always play what you enjoy the most after properly (doing a few dungeons etc) trying out a few choices. That will not only make sure you enjoy the game more in general, but you'll perform better as well and that is all you need.

You really don’t need to try so hard, maintain the dots by either reapplying them with shadow crash or manually on each target with vampiric touch, after that generally all your abilities generates insanity which is the resource you need to put the third dot “Devouring plague” for your big cooldown dark ascension you pop it then press power infusion on an ally and press void bolt on cooldown, while its on cd you try to put devouring plague on the target to extend Dark ascension.

I don't agree with the Trinket choice. Class trink is good but not best, its randome proc. Use Spoils to max your dmg in burst

They changed the APL for dungeon slice last year, so that is totally fine to use. You can super min max it and so specific route Sims with method dungeon tools and route export. Other than dungeon slice, I also sim for one target for tyrannical weeks.

Seems like you meant how do you do fire damage to proc it? Best way is with the mace that drops off fyrakk(bought with bullions) and the shadowflame embellishment(placed on crafted gear). You will need both to get the full effect of the fire ring.

Wow, this spec looks insanely complicated I'm not sure if I can handle it! To my credit I'm actually a BM hunter main so I do play the hardest spec in the game when it comes to minmaxing already, so I think with this expertly crafted guide I shall give it a go! I see people on here popping off 1-2m damage on aoe pulls and up to 4-500k on single target. I am maybe 6 ilvl lower than these players and my build and rotation is exactly the same with stats similar as well. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong and why my damage is a fraction of theirs. It's been very disheartening. Not to mention because of the meta I'm always playing with BM and Ret which make AOE pulls look so fucking easy it's sickening lol

you might be doing key levels that are too low, shadow needs time to ramp

Something Ive noticed since starting to play my Spriest is that Shadow needs alot of time to ramp. Its alot similar to Assass Rogue in that way (for me at least since Im a Rogue main and Assass also needs ramp time) Those guys are doing high enough key levels where trash isnt dying within 20 seconds so you arent getting to properly ramp. As for bosses, they are also buffed out the ass by an Aug Evoker, and they also have 5% more Int from having a Mage in the group, dont worry too much about damage at the moment until you get to higher keys where the DPS checks matter. Edit: They also are doing 5% more total magic damage due to having a VDH in the group as well. So thats also inflating their damage numbers.
