I have a lot of Vindication (and Unsettled too) and really enjoy it. I probably really don't NEED Vestige. But just listening to the O-Neb team talk about the game, their motivation, and their culture makes me WANT to back it. They make great games and they are even better people. Whether I end up backing Vestige or not, I hope it is a huge success for Orange Nebula and introduces lots of new players to their games!

Given I have Vindication and haven't even tabled that yet, Vestige didn't make much sense for me. I do see this as an important product for O-Neb to have a game that someone doesn't need to spend $100 to get into.

I think Vestige sounds great! Well great for someone who doesn't already own everything for Vindication. For me, O Neb has not done a great job of showing why I would need both games, which to me says, I don't actually need both. We still love Vindication in my group and we haven't come close to touching all the new content. Glad folks have alternatives, but this one is certainly not for me.

I think this move makes a lot of sense for them. I like Vindication but I don’t like it solo and it’s a bear to get out and often teach. I don’t feel like I need both Vestige and Vindication, at least not yet. Definitely will consider it down the road when the money/game space is available.

Great to hear a bit more on the ideas, origins and world of Vestige. Also a big fan of Alex’s channel. There is half of me that thinks the overlap is too big in terms of game feel to invest in Vestige as I have practically everything for Vindication (what a great game). However, I love the new theme, I love the idea I can solo, co-op and compete in its world, and love the idea of the team you build (chop-bots, contact network) are out there doing your bidding. If you remove the idea that it’s a ‘Euro’ (I do like euros, but they play in that engine build victory point way most of the time) the idea of surviving, beating the Nemisesi, es, isies… means it’s okay like a fight to elbow your way ahead of the rest, that sounds so good! I will pledge.

Alex will tell you it is great. If Vindication is his most loved game, what would you expect him to say about Vestige. It is the same game just reskinned and adjusted. At this stage of the campaign do you really think there will be anyone that has access to the game to say anything critical about it. If you want to see if this game is for you, you should check content about Vindication. If you want marketing talk and upping FOMO watch Vestige content (until it delivers).

@ it’s not the same game and Alex is one of the most intellectually honest reviewers around, he tries to be aware of his biases and this could easily be a 4 for him vs a 5. Since vindication is his favorite game I would be surprised if he wasn’t more critical , expectations are high and missing content will be felt harder.

@@Brandon1Wright OK. I will not debate on the bias or no bias. Orange Nebula pays the channel to do a paid content for them in terms of gameplay. They support the channel by giving the channel access to exclusive content and providing them with free products. There is an exchange of money for services. That we need to take on the side as a actual fact. There is a previous relationship (monetary) between the channel and Orange Nebula. Now. Meg has been brought on the channel (like Devon was before he joined Lucky Duck) to take on paid content. So Alex will not show himself on the paid content when it comes to previews or reviews,he will only do it on the gameplay. Vestige is an offspring of Vindication. The mechanics of the game is the same. The setting is different. If one like cube pushers, he will like Vindication. If one likes Vindication there is little to no chance that, she will not like Vestige. If this is a 4 out of 5 for Alex, or 5 out of 5, it doesn't mean anything. The channel will have it in the collection because after delivery, Orange Nebula will have another campaign where they will sell 12 cards packs for 5$ once more...they announced it in the video. It will stay in the collection just for this reason only. Will Alex play Vestige...maybe,but I doubt how much due to always trying out new stuff. Will Alex continue to play Vindication, most probably yes. Will Vestige replace Vindication for hi, most probably no...why,because it is the same game with a different theme, and if he is already invested in Vindication that is an easy answer. During gameplay, that is a paid content, everyone will have a "great time". When this deliver, and other people get their copies, it is then when a truly honest opinion will come up. This is not that I don't trust Alex, he may be the most trustworthy reviewer, but when it comes to exchange of money for services, everyone will want to have their product be showed it positive light, otherwise it will not be published on KZbin.

@adukovski We're not doing paid content on the game; don't get me wrong, there's still bias of course...I like the Oneb team and they did fly us in to see the game. But a few small notes; 1) I talk about the paid games we cover in my week in review each week and have not been shy about saying which ones did or didn't work for me. While I won't give opinions DURING the paid content, I won't and haven't hid my opinions after the paid content. 2) I've already told my discord community that Vestige is for 3 groups of people....those that don't have Vindication, those that are absolutely super fans who want it all and those that want the Nemesis content which is unique. Everyone else can skip it. 3) I believe Vestige fills a similar place in my collection to Everdell Farshore, which has received more play than Everdell through the convenience factor...although to be fair, this might be more of a commentary on not getting big box experiences.

I have always loved the idea of vindication but my game group doesnt work well with too much complexity, so vestige is the sweet point for them and helps me table sonething i always wanted to play

It s a bit worrying they try to convince ppl that this game worth the invest ehile the rffort they put is so low. Just having part spifit fire dev team sitting around and they asked them To reskin vindication. Very lttile effort for so much money for almost nothing nee and innovative. Disappointed.

I think calling the effort low is a bit insulting considering how much time goes into any game. I completely understand if this is not a game you're interested in, but please try to be mindful of the hours and hours of work that go into any project.

@BoardGameCo i m not insulting anyone just stating what is going on. I didnt say they dont work i said they put little effort for what they are asking for. Same amount of money for a reskin and 90% same mechanics of the original and exceptional game vindication. Its a money grabber and it s fine. Just dont present it like its the new masterpiece cause its not. We re grown up men. Btw i m waiting spirit fire where i can see innovation and new ideas.

@@gerasimos5491 So, I'm just curious: after watching this entire video (assuming you did), which concludes with a whole segment on the negative way that some people communicate, and on the work O-Neb invested in this project, you still choose to call it "low effort", a "reskin", "nothing new and innovative", and even a "money grabber". That just leaves me wondering: do you ever question your communication style? Like, do you consider that the O-Neb people are humans, with feelings? I just don't understand the lack of empathy. Even leaving aside the fact that I think your assessment is entirely wrong, and even granting that you have the right to express your opinion, don't you think that you could maybe try to express a bit of nuance, just as a token of respect to these people? And not just label your personal opinion as "stating what's going on"? Your personal impressions are not reality. ... I'm sorry, I forgot, this is the KZbin comment section. Still. Maybe you should consider it. Could help you, as well as others.

My token of respect is that i have vindication archive of the ancients and unsettled all in. And believe me that i choose carefully where i spent my hard earned money. In spite of that, stating what is going on expression relied on the "new game system" that has the same dna and twisted mechanics asking the same amount of money. If we were talking about a vindicstion 2nd edition would be better. But taking an already succesful game reskin it and serve it as new, well is not too fair. Specially when they stated that they had ppl from other project paid but finished earlier so they have to aske them to do sth because they were already paid in full. I havent asked anyone to accept my opinion nor i asked ppl not to buy it. In other words you dont easily go from iphone 15 to 16 for the same price tag for just a 10% processor power and couple of megapixel, dont you?
