What a great series explaining the vestments, sacred vessels, and liturgical colors. Thank you for putting this together. Fascinating as history alone along with its religious significance. Happy New Year.

I've always been interested in the Polish National Catholic Church. I remembered there was one next to the Roman Catholic Church in Virginia Minnesota. Also had a friend who belong to this parish.

An interesting denomination, right? Small, which has plusses and minuses - protected from the over-governing of larger denominations, parishes choose their own fates if nearing tough decisions. God bless you for taking the time to watch.

Why wear a clergy shirt under the cassock?

Well, some cassocks have the collar built in, some don't. I almost always am in a clergy shirt when I am about to vest and, well, would rather not take it off to wear something else.

The PNCC needs to return to more traditional liturgies that implement Polish. The Vatican II liturgy does not align with the orgins of the Church & the PNCC is struggling with mass attendance because they don't separate themselves.

Interesting point- In some places, this may be true, but not all. Many parishes now have very little-to-no Polish presence within the parish anymore. A liturgist would argue the PNC liturgy is a mix of the post Vatican 2 liturgy and the pre-Tridentine...

Where in scripture are all these "religious clothing" or vestments, etc commanded by God? And if it isn't then it's the doctrine of men (religious parctaice that is man made)

A few times in the Old Testament vestments are spoken of. Exodus chapter 39 speaks in depth of the priestly garments...and as it is quite clearly a Judeo-Christian faith in practice, the very act of wearing adorned garments continues what was prescribed in the service of our Lord. No, It is not one of Jesus' commandments and no, the apostles probably didn't wear vestments...but certainly the early Christian priests did.

@@st.maryspnccinparmaoh4656 Great, you gave an example for Judaism. As you know, that was the old and "nailed to the cross". Where is the authority in the New under Christianity?

Judaism wasn't what was nailed to the cross...it makes little sense to turn a blind eye to Christian history. Catholicism...or, what was nearly the entirety of Christianity for the preponderance of its existence...has continually evolved from Judaism with the reality of a realized Messiah.

@@st.maryspnccinparmaoh4656 So if Judaism is still in effect then when do you sacrifice animals for your sins? We can't be under both laws. The old law is obsolete and replaced by the new. Heb 8:13

A lot of added expense. I thought the Temple being destroyed ended the priesthood, priestly vestments and headwear, altars incense and grandiose edifices. Obviously not! 🙃🤯

Hi- if we are looking at Christian history like the temple being destroyed, we can't look past centuries of Christian liturgical worship, too- unless we are dismissing all the work, worship, and practices of many saints (or Saints) before us
@scented-leafpelargonium3366

@@st.maryspnccinparmaoh4656 Well, we can look past it if it is only man-made tradition not required by God, as He no longer dwells in temples made by the hands of men, and half of the traditions you cite were done away with with after Yeshua prophesied that the Temple would be destroyed, not to go and make some more! The church is the congregation or people, not the building. The word for a meeting house is sinagoga in Greek & beit knesset in Jewish vernacular, but non-Jews use the Anglicised rendering of it into "synagogue" as pertaining only to Jews, when it is just a generic term applying the meeting place of any group or people, but not "church." Incense, altars, priestly vestments and headwear were all done away with, yet we see them in Christian services, which definitely was not a part of the disciples & the first early Jews' church. The saints of God are all one without any special titles and we don't need any marble edifices. 🙃

Vestments are for the priests and worshipers of Baal. 2nd Kings 10:22. None of the Apostles wore vestments.

Interesting comment- obviously, scripture said nothing about the apostles wearing vestments. But that random quote from 2Kings...we know that Jewish worship called for proper vesture and many of the earliest Christians continued a Judeo-Christian path of worship...the worshippers of Baal using vestments in his worship was an ancient "trolling" of those who held them in high honor...kinda like you trolling this video with that comment and weaponizing the Word of God 😀
