That was Sniper Shot dealing true damage instead of executing an instakill. If you didn't know, a failed instakill attempt results in dealing a percentage of that enemy's max health as true damage. So, it takes 20/40/60 percent of the enemy's max HP on a failed attempt. I upgraded it specifically to help finish off the stragglers as soon as possible, so I'm glad it paid off!

@@Voduke789 Yeah, I know Sniper Shot does that. It just looked like he disappeared when I was first watching since the sniper shot animation was partially obscured by the Dragonbreath Missile’s smoke and it happened so quick. Before I commented I went back and saw what happened, but it was too funny looking not to make a joke about. Sniper Shot is certainly a very handy ability. Shame it often goes overlooked due to other towers with instakills being better as towers overall.

That is hilarious. It's because Gerald switched melee targets while an enemy was "stunned" (Wrath of the Forest, just like freezing, applies the stun affliction code-wise). I do this with Saitam all the time so that he can block two enemies at once. It's even stronger with Gerald since he can reflect melee attacks to two enemies at once! Or while he's approaching them, like in this case. Alric would be an even better candidate for this, but I think Sand Warriors might get in the way. I'll have to do some experiments!

I’m not sure if I’d recommend using speedruns as a walkthrough. I’d recommend checking out Murasaki Kimidori. They use much simpler and easier to execute strategies. Edit: Don’t get me wrong though, this channel is great.
