According to recent surveys (2022-2023), the Togiak herring biomass is at its highest since 1993. There's all kinds of conservation measures taken to limit the fishing effort : Correctly set quotas, Maximum gillnet length, web size(selective fishing) , season length, boat size limits A good set coming aboard might look like overfishing, but in most cases, it's not.
