The “Veterans Stories” series features Metro Area Vietnam Veterans sharing their personal experiences from the Vietnam War. The nine veterans who shared their experiences are: Lee Blackmon, Decker A. Decker, Jack McCormack, John McInerney, Guy Palumbo, Steve Tagg, Joseph Giannini, Michael Sulsona and Michael Mullarkey.
A very special and poignant portrayal of soldiers serving their country who upon returning from a job well done never heard: “Welcome Home”.

Still remember that episode when Lewis said to him: "You keep thinking the way you do Mr Arnold and these two (Kevin and Wayne) will be next, and I just hope that's what they want"

I knew Dan Lauria from The Wonder Years. Only his character was a Korean War veteran. I never would have known Dan was a real veteran but a Vietnam vet.

I think his idea about taking kids who are obsessed with these war video games to a VA hospital is an excellent idea. I remember when I was young and used to watch old war movies and GI Joe and everything else and thought war was fun and cool.....until my mom made me watch Born on the Fourth of July. Boy, that sure changed my whole perspective.

When you talked about your marine buddies are still connected, you couldn’t of said it better. Us marines always have that brotherhood. Plus you are right. When you get out they send you through taps. But it does not get you ready for what you will face on the outside. Semper fi sir

AMAZING point about that period after WW2 where they spent more time with each other and were able to detach together. Maybe a 2 month restation in a Germany or Japan while still in the military environment but not combat? Especially if they’re surrounded by the same guys they just served with.

Lauria is spot on about the military. Men in comfy leather chairs, sipping cognac, smoking cigars and sending young people to faraway places to die for mercenary or political causes is a truism. The horrible treatment of Vietnam vets was a knee-jerk reaction by a public unaware of the manipulations of their government.
