Just got in my DP3 from Veto Pro Pac.
I haven't used it much yet, but I wanted to go ahead and share the features of the pouch and show you a example Loadout. That way if you are on the fence you will get an idea if you need to pull the trigger on any of these bags before the Spring promotion ends.
Let me know what you think, or if you have any questions in the comments below. Thanks for watching!

Seeing as how I have to critique it in some way... 😂 it would be near perfect if it had a plastic bottom. DON'T CUT the flap or you'll void the warranty. Great use of the bit holder as a parts pocket.

@MORGANSMaintenance Ай бұрын
I would want the plastic bottom if I was going to use mostly as a “bag type” pouch. If I’m wearing it, I have never likes it on the TP3B and ended getting a TP3 I think more people will use it as a pouch bag than wear it

If you use mad pack holder can slip it over your belt and it stabilizes the dp3 a little better

I use the Toughbuilt electricians pouch for one of my meters and hang it off the side of a Velocity bag. When I was using the TP4B, I could get my Kewtech voltage tester in the front pouch, I can also get it in one of the side pouches of the SD-LB, but they are quite large for belt mounted pouches. Interesting to see the different uses people have for the pouches 👍👍.

This one’s a little bigger than I would want. My home is someday they make a MP pouch with one bigger slot for a meter, couple screwdrivers, couple pliers.

Thank you so much for this! I’m an HVAC tech and got the MB3B for my probes and iPad and I had a TP-XL for most of my other tools but I needed something smaller for my quick check DP3 that you’re showing. The Meter with the drill in the photo is brilliant. I love that, I’ll use my smaller meter rather than my Fieldpiece 680, so it’s perfect. I’m back and forth with the HVAC 8-in-1 or the impact 11-in-1, but I’d want to get a valve core removal bit to replace the square.

Yeah Veto makes a lot of stuff to store meters in, but not really to use them back/forth with “quick grab” This isn’t perfect for me, but something I can use till I find it.

I have tried to use this more effectively but due to the weird angle and the tool pockets and the super tall nature of it with the clip I use it on a dB 701 vest as a primary side pouch. I'm glad I can use it someplace but thoes few things kinda make me want a version 2 for sure. I think like many others said in its current form with a plastic piping bottom maybe a cutout just for the driver part would make it a better service bag kinda a tp3 with the space for drill. They could have almost sewn a addon to a tp3 and got what we are asking for. It is what it is and not complaining as much as if veto us listening they could make the product we want. Even a little baby cobra buckle for the securing strap in the holster would be neat! We all know we will buy the new shiny its the veto way 😆.

Nice look at this pouch. You're using it much the way I have my TP3B set up; the meter would fit nicely in the large front compartment (I have a folding work light in mine). In a few minutes, I'm going to go try this setup in the DP3 since I use it as an indoors bag so I don't care about the plastic base. Right now I'm using a DP3 for emergency car tools; I have a jump-starter in the big rear pocket.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Ай бұрын
Yeah, I used to carry my meter in my 4B much the same way. I never liked wearing the ones with the plastic bases as pouches, but they make really great “bags” to carry by hand and set down.

Great video. I have been scratching my head wondering why Veto has never made a belt pouch designed for electrical. I cant tell you how many pouch variations I have tried over the past 30 years. I have broken my electrical pouches into two parts. My belt pouch is the Tough Built small electrician pouch. I like it because I can put my Dewalt Gyro in it and retrieve it easily. I also keep the tools I use the most in it. I am pushing 65 years of age and I dont do heavy belt pouches anymore. This pouch is light weight and I can wear it all day. it's set up to do minor electrical like ceiling fans, light fixtures outlets and switches. That type of stuff. When I'm done, I hang it on the end of the shelving unit in the van. I take the SB-LD pouch in when I am doing more extensive electrical work. It obviously holds more tools and meters. Bottom line for me, I only put light weight pouches on my hips and carry or roll the rest of it. I see workers all the time with 20 pounds of tools hanging off their body and trust me, it will catch up to them. Keep up the great vids and let me know when you find the perfect pouch.

Yeah things change as you get older for sure… you wish you wore knee pads more, ear plugs, etc. That’s like carpenter belts, I’ve moved to stuff where they are easy to take parts on/off instead of wearing something all day long and only using 1/4 of it at a time.
@OnusBones
@OnusBones Ай бұрын
THIS!! I can't imagine wearing even ten pounds of tools on my belt for any length of time. I've decided I might get myself a MPX; that's the biggest I'd want to carry around.

I a long time ago hating standard tool belts went to beltless/vest systems myself. My heavy framing rig is occidental leather beltless system (there are plenty of videos out there). My medium roof rig is a knockoff of occidental leather suspendavest but that has changed to diamondback 701 lately. The common goal is to ditch that weight on my waist and put it on my shoulders. The other nice thing is the setups flow and move with you instead of being stiff. I agree 20lbs all day is just torture unless your use to it but it's like doing concrete for a living it will kill you. Pouches are the same way the dp3 is a bit too heavy to wear if they did a clip system it would need 2 on the back.

Don't do the mpx. The mp2x us only a little bigger and I bet you'll wish you had more room really soon. I got the mpx and regretted it had to wait on backorder for a mp2x. Everything is a seprate pouch is much better than double stuffed just resist and underfull your pouch. Save 70 bucks learn from my mistake we always think we can use less when we really want more!

@@MattHmm-rq6dn I have moved to the Atlas Vest, like you I like the weight on my shoulders better than my waist. It’s also easier to take stuff on/off throughout the day as you aren’t using to lighten up throughout the day.

I stole a back from one of my Cliptech pouches and installed it on my DP3 so I can clip it on and off. I am just not a fan of running it through a belt to take it off and on. I use the little belt clip to attach it to the side of my TP XXL and that works great.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Ай бұрын
It’s not my ideal situation with the belt, but I don’t mind it as long as I just leave the belt in it. I also won’t use it super often over my MP pouches The clip does work good to put it on a bigger bag.

Hi Joey good video again One thing I noticed a few times in your tool pouch videos is your putting your pica pencil into a pocket On my mp1x I clip it with the clip on the pica holder to the outside of a pocket Same with my fastback Basically any thing small I can clip on i do and save the slot for a other tool or bit etc It’s only a little thing but it noticed it a few times and it kinda bugged me 😂😂 Have a great week
@MORGANSMaintenance

I do that on my MPX because I don’t have enough slots. I do that with my knife and flashlight generally. I move stuff around when I need slots though, I’ve had my MP2X looking like an MCT off my side before 😂

Was just a thing I noticed that I my mind did not make sense lol And yea that is one great thing about the mp1x day to day or even hour to hour the layout changes to the use And I hardly ever run out of slots More often then not it’s either just right or I have room left So I’m very glad I did not go for the mp2x

I personally like my tracer and pica pencils in a pocket myself. The only thing I may clip on is a utilty knife? Regardless I've had the sleeves pull up and fall on the ground at odd times like over a open hole or crawling under or over things. Since there 12 to 16 bucks each I'm not gonna loose them over a extra slot in my pouch.

I was watching a hvac youtuber that veto reached out to. He said that veto just couldnt understand why we would want our meters out and exposed and not in the new sd's rear zipper pouch. Hopefully it clicks for them and they make a dedicated meter slot in a dp3 similar pouch. I had the same idea for the dp3 but its comical how tall it is with the belt loop. It almost needs a leg strap at the bottom like a thigh holster.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance Ай бұрын
For storage having it put up makes sense… but if we are physically using them in combination with tools we need somewhere to put them while we switch back and forth 🤷‍♂️ Yeah with the clip it’s not wearable in my opinion. It’s a belt through the loop only for me.

If you want a all metal version of the toughbuilt clips that can be modified to work with any current toughbuilt products check out prolock. Simply filing down the wings a 1/4 in you get a all metal clip that sits flatter slimmer and closer to the body. I took a prolock tool belt for 30ish dollars and used it for clip sets to put on other things.

I have to get in some pretty weird places a lot of the time, crawl spaces, tight attics and such, was looking for something that doesn’t stick out too bad, do you think this would get in the way and if so would the MPX or 1X be better? I have to fit termination tools and some basic drivers (usually just use a multi bit driver) and either a cable stapler or my M12 drill or impact.
@MORGANSMaintenance
@MORGANSMaintenance 29 күн бұрын
This sticks out quite a bit. I don’t think it is what you are looking for. The MPX is the least, but only fits a few tools. The MP1x doesn’t stick out that much farther and gives you a little more options making it more versatile. The only advantage to the DP3 would be for your M12, but I normally carry mine on the tape clip, or I just clip it on somewhere separate from my pouch.
