I think this is my favorite game over theme ever. They're usually not my favorite tracks, but this one isn't just _"main theme but sad"_ or _"oopsie, you died!"_ It feels like its own melody, tragic but inspirational, and with the cadence of a waltz with fate. One of my fav songs from Ch 2.

I love the chord progression in this melody. That feeling you get with a combination of minor and major notes that promptly gives you a feeling of failure and loss while at the same time instilling an epic feeling that gives you hope for a second chance. Also, Vetrom, you win me over with the violins, violins always wins me over. In all seriousness this song really is the perfect “Game Over” song with all the emotions it instills into the player.

What I hear when I listen it is like the first few seconds of the song are just sad, typical game over screen feelings, but then when you stay longer, it picks up with that determined, even if still loss-drenched, sound that makes you want to try again. Like the song waits to see if you're actually considering to just quit, and after that time is up it picks up to try and motivate you to keep going.

The more I listen to this theme, the more I realize that it has the motif that secret bosses do, the “freedom” motif? But it’s split apart here. Maybe it represents the fact that Kris KNOWS they can’t have freedom unlike the Jevil who feels free and Spamton who believe he could be free? Just something interesting to note here.

To me it sounds like something that would play once Kris realizes that it's not that he's lost his freedom; it's that he shares it with you: The player. That for good or bad you're both connected and while your actions may come from curiosity, malice or benevolence it doesn't take away from the fact that together you and Kris will overcome all the odds and at the end of the day if Kris can trust himself to trust us with his request? We're more likely to grant him his wish and set each other free.

Faint courage... Even when times are tough and all looks bleak, time will forever change things. Yes, good times will turn to bad times, but the opposite is true as well, bad will turn to good if you wait long enough. Change is always a constant, never forget that. Things will get better. They will also get worse. And then they will get better once more. Constantly changing, never stopping. So sure, things may be bad now, but hold onto that faint courage. If you can manage to survive the onslaught, you will see things get better. All you need to do is survive

Why does this remind me of the arcade in which I’ve never gone to in the 1980s? I love the remix itself, that being said, and it really reminds me of those old arcade games with a very similar tone to it, like I said. Also, the mood it brings is amazing; it’s basically the game asking you for a second chance, while at the same time, bringing back memories that never did exist for people like me. Great job, man.
