If you could use a stick welder I think this is a good choice.

I think I paid 140 for my hot staple gun & plastic welder kit so that's a good deal!

That would be a great welding tool for someone with a small shop area, and the staples, I had never heard of. Hope that turned out solid.

The staple repair was only a demo but I did finish zipping it up while I was at it but still have to use a plastic welder to seam up the back side and reinforce it with a slather of fiberglass filler. Next summer I'll do that on all the plastic that broke on the GMC dually when I did the headliner. I'll try to get that on camera.

The old Chain of Rocks bridge over the river has been closed to traffic since 1970, I didn't start driving a car until I was 18 in 1975. I have been across the old canal bridge to the island preceding the old river bridge on the Illinois side a number of times, in fact I see that canal bridge from my job everyday, its only a hundred feet from our driveway but haven't been across it since the mid '90s. I remember driving a motorcycle across that canal bridge back in the '80s and it has a see through grate for a deck and really whines and is a bit unstable to drive on with a bike.

Yes I saw the yard on Google maps and wondered if it was your base . I was over it in '59 (9y.o.) with my parents and older bro. On the way from so. Calif. to Baltimore for his wedding , mostly on rt. 66 . Loved that trip , NEON all the way ! Take care , Neil

Yeah, Rt 66 ran from Chicago to L.A. right through St. Louis. We did Rt 66 from St. Louis to L.A. when I was about 6 in my mother's V.W. bug, I'll never forget how the car would shake every time a big truck would pass going the other way (2 lane) in those days and not as wide as today. I didn't know chain of rocks bridge was part of Rt 66 until today when I looked on google to see when the bridge closed.
