Interesting comment about Painter, I feel like that is GWx Depths' best matchup. Instant speed GY hate in multiple ways, they can barely interact with lands or Marit Lage, we are usually faster than them, and we pack a ton of removal in the main and side (Force of Vigor is so back with Bauble gone). I have always felt extremely extremely favored against Painter! On the other end, I agree about Nadu though, that is probably our WORST matchup. Feels so impossible, especially if you aren't Naya with Red Blasts. The deck definitely struggles against all versions of Nadu, maybe a little less vs Breakfast, but still super super unfavored. Because there's 3 Nadu decks, I will continue to not be playing much of any Depths for now, just too hard to avoid Nadu.

I do believe that we are favored vs painter it just when I have played the matchup it has felt closer than it should be. The T1 Magus/Blood Moon has gotten me and vexing bauble turning of FoV has been hard. I think that with good mulligan decisions and tighter play that matchup can go back up to extremely favored. The stuff I said in the video is more my general feeling playing and loosing the matchup more than I would have wished. On the other side I have faced the deck a lot on the cannel and I think I'm 80-20 there at least It's just in paper the match has been more problematic. With that said I'm also worried about the Nadu deck. Both to face it and to face the decks trying to beat it (fast combo). For our deck to be better positioned I would like to see banns on: Nadu, Thassas Oracle and Kozileks Command plus less design mistakes (from a legacy context) in upcoming sets. I'm going to try a lot of different decks for a while to keep the content on the channel fresh. It's to bad that depths isn't better positioned as I do like the additions we have gotten recently (Talan gates, Echoing Deeps, Legolas etc).
