UPDATE: After i warmed the canister a bit, the mag got way more gas in it. The Rof are way more similar to others.

I only found out about vfc making a gbb hk53 like 2 weeks ago. I originally was looking for a vfc mp5 to go with my new vfc psg1 but cant find any. So I am definitely considering the hk53 to my next gun. It is an incredibly underated gun in general you dont see much. I hope to find the original a3 curved sliding stock to complete its authentic look.

yeah tbh i would prefer hk53 way more than mp5 in terms of airsoft at least the mag holds way more gas in it. The potential for fps stability is unmatched.

I wonder, could the Magpul SL grip module would even work on it.

i dont think so. the magpul is for the real steel hk93/94, while this uses a hk33/53/54 grip module. i don't see why a real steel hk33/53/54 grip module wouldnt fit. if you look closely, you can see that this has a takedown pin just beneath the magazine release button. it is the same as the one that joins the grip module to the stock to the receiver. the hk93/94 don't have a pin there, instead, they use the same system the psg1 uses, where there is a steel claw (and no magazine release lever) that hooks the grip module in place. i think the magpul grip would flop, as it has no place to latch to the receiver in the front. this difference is so the hk93/94 can't receive full auto trigger packs and be easily converted into machine guns per the US law.

Technically you can put a mp5 stock on the HK53, but the length is not the same. Which is pretty ugly to be honest

i think the only problem is the coating on the magazine wears easily. other than that it's kinda durable
