out of curiosity did you try firing it before changing the flash hider? I have noticed a number of the people with issues with their MP7s appear to have removed the stock flash hider. Apparently the outer barrel extends into the gearbox so when twisting the flash hider to remove it is possible to damage parts of the gear box especially if there is any remaining glue/locktight. Not sure if you have possibly heard anything similar to this

@@kevinmorrice Im seeing around that there is a mock suppressor that can go over flash hider so need to remove it. Do you think that will decrease any performance? Really want an smg for indoor parks. So looking at Mp7 or Vector.

There's a recent Gen2 of this (it has a spring release button on top). You might want to take a look at it and see if it fixes what's wrong.

Black Emerald Tactical A friends vfc mp7 broke first day out as well. Plus it’s not really a aeg per say. It’s more like an AEP hybrid 😂. Proprietary gearbox is a shame. If it accepted standard upgrades that would be great :(

In case you haven’t seen anymore updates with the gun, the issue is with the mags. The mags are poorly designed so they jam up the gun and cause the internals to bust. Bullgear now makes CNC internal parts to prevent the internal breakage but to fix the mags you can either drop the round count down to 70-80 with new stiffer springs or keep the 110rd count by dremmeling out the channels and replacing the springs. I’ve got the bullgear parts and I did the mod to the magazines and so far with around 2k rounds put through it’s still going strong. Just make sure your nozzle still has a good seal too.

Does anyone know if this has been fixed yet? This gun was on the top of my list for my first airsoft gun but after hearing this I'm not going to get it until I know it is fixed, especially since I would have to order it from overseas so getting support would be difficult.

At least do not buy the UK version of this AEG. Wait for Umarex/VFC to address these issues before making the dive into this aeg.

I hope VFC fixes their follower issues. I hope they do it similar to TM VZ61 mid caps, in which the follower is plastic but can swivel, similar to the MP7. Red Wolf Airsoft praises this gun so much and even called it the Evo 3 Killer, yet I never trust this gun to be amazing, as it is a first model and the gearbox has many small parts and are proprietary. As for the MP7, I want to give it some credit, considering that this gearbox is a uniquely designed piece. I want to see this gun to do well but I think there needs to be revisions. I definitely do not think that this deserved the 400$ price point.

Agreed, would absolutely love to see it succeed but then it's let down by shoddy parts. At least which such a unique design you'd want robust bits. Let's hope the next round of mp7s truly are Evo killers.

@@BlackEmeraldTacticalOfficial that is going to be very hard to achieve. I held and shot the Evo, Vector, and ARP 9 aegs and the evo was by far my favorite gun I have ever owned. The Vector was ok but the performance was a bit subpar for its pricetag. I was going to but the AEG mp7 but negative feedback changed my mind haha

Regarding the gen 2 rumors, I wonder if someone was confused between the AEG and the GBB. There is a gen 2 version of VFC's MP7A1 with upgraded internals.

@@HK-wq1ei here in germany any Mp7 with the serialnumber starting with 19 is Gen.2 , if youre unsure go ask the dealer you want to buy from to check if the barrel is made of metal. 3 months ago i know maybe still helpful :)

VFC are know for internal surprise, not for the mp7 or Umarex but just VFC in general.

Damn I'm glad I found this! I've been itching for an MP7 or MP5 for awhile now, and was close to pulling the trigger (no pun intended lol). Thanks for the heads up. Knowing VFC, they won't acknowledge the issue, they will just quietly slip a version 2 into the market lol.

Do you know if there’s a difference in reliability at different power levels? Some Airsoft Guns just do not run well stock at power they weren’t originally designed for. Plus fair play to Land Warrior for refunding you.

Well as its Umarex this AEG is actually fitted with a less powerful spring so it works within the UK. Normal Umarex is I believe usually around 380 to 400 fps. It's just a strange affair lol

A lot of recent releases have been quite garbage. The Specna Arms Edge 2.0 debacle springs to mind. I think it's safe to say that with the coronavirus that the even more understaffed chinese and japanese factories have a significant drop in QC and manufacturing quality.

okay first off you should realize that its not a toy. even with the low fps, it hurts and can definitely damage the skin.

VFC some of the best externals, also some of the worst internals. Things that should be made out of stronger materials are not. Its the same with every one of their products.

Their MP5s are another example of this statement. Amazing externals and polymer, yet piston and tappet plate is made of that cheap clear plastic that shatters or crack easily... don't get me started on the self shimming gears...

Im gonna be honest here, ive owned a few kwa mp7 and i was really looking forward to the aeg one. I work at an airsoft shop in canada and these arent normally legal (muzzle velocity too low). Today i had one customer bring one of those in and i was really excited at first. Ive wanted to swap my kwa gbb for a vfc aeg ever since ive seen the reveal for this thing. Once the customer took it out of the box, i was instantly dissapointed. Firstly build quality is truely shit. I see everyone on youtube praising the build quality but it was shockingly bad. It was about half the weight of my kwa one even tho its bigger. Mold lines absolutely everywhere, the finish was nicer than the kwa but it felt super flimsy. Also the mags, the weird transparent part wouldnt be too bad if it wasnt for the visible screws all over the mag. The mags look and feel like a nerf guns magazine.

I think these problems are pretty unacceptable especially for how expensive this thing is. This tiny, plastic gun using a beefed up AEP gearbox should not cost as much as a TM Recoil Shock. Even the plastic magazines are very overpriced for how cheap they feel and look. The fact that they couldn't even provide the side rails for the thing is also pretty ridiculous as well.
