You are right Jaby. In the ealry 2000s period, the Indian film industry did not have access to vfx that were as advanced as something that was being sold in the American or the British market. so when Krish came out, we took it seriously. that was real for us and a boost in standard from what we were used to before. We didn't have anything to compare it to, so that became a golden standard for us. if you look at it from the Indian film Industry's perspective, they wanted to try with their movies, what the American industry was doing but they couldn't due to budget constraints and I'm guessing not enough knowledge about VFX. It's like a little kid seeing an oil painting of a ship and trying to draw it and they end up drawing their own version with pencils with amamtuer strokes. I'm not throwing shades at anyone, that's what it was. The industry wanted to but it didn't have the right support and funding but now we're seeing Red Chillies rising and touching new heights so we have hope for the future.

I agree with you completely just the lack of budget and technology put us a lot behind the leading countries but I personally think that could be easily fixed. Instead of hiring big stars and spending money on them Bollywood could always spend on things that actually matter. The mentality that movies work because of start had to be changed and it is finally changing but no one is willing to take risk now.

There were many copies of his screenplay hundreds of them and some indian boy read the screenplay and watched e.t. and he told the press Mr. Steven spielberg have stolen the idea from satyajit ray and spielberg denied it. There was a interview satyajit ray did back in the day which you can find on youtube where he talked about it and he said many ideas in THE ALIEN are in e.t. And no koi mil gaya wasn't any official adaptation of THE ALIEN.

Jaby, the Krrish series are primarily aimed for kids. They didn't plan to create a Superhero series. They made Koi Mil Gaya which was India's introduction to concept of Aliens. It was a masterstroke how they moved forward with the story and created a Superhero Franchise out of it. Krrish was the First attempt to push Superhero genre in mainstream Bollywood. And it worked only bcoz of Hrithik who made it seem possible with less VFX. In West, there is a comic book culture that already created generation of audiences for Superhero films like Spiderman etc. In India, they had to start from scratch. Krrish action scenes was made using a foreign action team from China or Thailand hence the Anime feel to the action scenes. Most stunts was done by Hrithik using wire work and no green screen. But, Krrish 3 was made completely in India using Red Chillies. The makers and Hrithik made it clear to Indian audiences to understand the Budget constraints that one VFX scene of Marvel is more than entire Budget of Krrish 3. People had seen Spiderman and other movies by then. So, the Krrish makers kind of prepared the audiences during promotions to keep expectations low in terms of VFX. But, what we lack in VFX n Budget, we make do with Emotions in our films.

I think what's in director's mind while naration can be very awesome and might be appealing to the Actor, but while execution - low budget, hero safety during stunts, poor skills of VFX team, time period left for release many factors might have made it wierd/compromising.

The making of a good movie depends on these three factors being above par. Writing, Directing and Acting, in that specific order. Everything else from Visual effects to lighting to set and location just adds to the overall movie but it never makes a bad movie good. There's a movie called The Man from Earth. Made on a shoe string budget, set in one location with six or seven actors, zero visual effects and maybe two or three cameras and to this day that movie is in my Top Ten movie list and it never budges from that list. It's not just that the story is good, it is, but how the story is told is also great and the acting is okay for the most part. Tony Todd is in it so yay for Tony Todd but what makes the movie so good is 1. The story and 2. The way the story is told. For anyone who has time, please take the time to watch this movie because it is a different experience.

Exactly 💯 jaby...i read our minds...it is supposed to be received like Spiderman movie...its is not goofy at that time with our technology...we took it seriously and in an exciting way at that time.... Also they are watching it without context...when u feel the story u dont pay much attention on vfx right

This was serious 'superhero' stuff back then. Yes, we had fun and laughs over the stupid things, but we do the same for non-Indian movies which fall on that side of the spectrum.

I think they themselves (movies) are aware of their goofiness but the audience does take it seriously which in krish’s case is made up of mostly kids.

They got excited seeing that redchilles did fan vfx so its high quality but forgot krissh 3 vfx was by same company. Its all depends on money, Redchille is srk company he can spend lot to look what he want. I would say fan movie had lot budget than krrish under table cuz its srk company.
