@OSA I get what you're trying to say, but just believing someone based on titles only is pretty silly, and disregarding Leffens opinion entirely is even more silly. Leffen has good reasonings behind his opinion (so does Armada, I only bring it up because disregarding Leffens isn't exactly fair). He gives good reasons to why he thinks fox loses to Marth at top level (since Marths punish game is way better than Foxes, FD is a free game win at top level and just a super strong counter pick while fox doesn't have that, etc.) Hence why you never see Armada go fox against the best Marths like Zain and M2k. Melee nerd talk in a ultimate vid lol

People underestimate the 'zard. He has huge upset potential. Sure as a solo character he wouldn't be great for combo game etc. but he finishes stocks mad easy. Pokemon trainer is once character and 'zard is a good part of that

@Samuel Amadi No I get you. I was implying that there isnt some sort of secret knowledge to be known about the MU. More specifically I was referring to the bair hitbox. I've seen a lot of people simply just runing into a drop down platform bair not thinking it was going to hit them and die for it or just running into a raw bair when they think they spaced themselves correctly. The Pokemon trainer - Pikachu MU is about 66,6-33,3 in Pikachu's favour because because Charizard and Squirtle is weak to electric but Ivysaur does resist it though which gives PT hope

A key thing about Puppeh's Zard is that he accepts damage from strings that he knows are either true combos or frame traps while saving his airdodge specifically to avoid kill moves. Other Pokemon Trainers will spam Pokemon Switch when being combo'd as Zard only to find themselves immediately punished due to Squirtle's small aerial hitboxes and light weight. Zard has some gimmicky moves and a crappy disadvantage state, but Puppeh knows just how much punishment he can take while he's fishing for the last hit. Comparing Puppeh's vods to some unknown Melee player who lost to Hbox, the difference is night and day.

To be fair to everyone calling out leffen. He never said pokemon trainer was bad. He said it was too much work for him to learn every matchup 3 times while also learning game fundamentals that carried over from smash 4. Thats not to say that i think his decision made sense, but pokemon trainer being bad was never something he said. I was always a bit upset he didnt just learn basic stuff like fox, mario, or lucina if he just wanted to learn fundamentals *shrug*. If he wanted an interesting character he already had PT sigh. I thought he was onto something with roy, very fundamentals based. But he didnt ever really commit to that smh. PT was what he needed the whole time and yet he just didnt want to put in the work.
