Fatalities nerves didn't hold up well under pressure, not to mention the terrible MU. He definitely should have switched to Link to AA Ike's brain dead neutral game with better disjoint and projectiles. Still, 65/2000 is an excellent placement to get, and Fatality really shouldn't have let that match get to him as much as it did based on his Twitter.

One thing I've found that works extremely well to punish Ike's nair is to wait for him to throw out an aerial nair. When he does, keep your space, and then falcon kick can punish every time. It's super easy to do. Unfortunately, I don't think Fatality knew or ever needed to resort to this tactic.

Alex Salinas the new Smash Ultimate engine made everything faster, meaning Falcon lost one of his biggest advantages in the game no longer outspeeding most characters. His side B, while does get a cool hit box since he dives in, is no longer an early kill confirm. And his up air, used to be his bread and butter, but now it also isn't a kill confirm either and doesn't do as much damage

While Ultimate feels like a well-balanced game, I have a strong feeling that sword-fighting styles are going to dominate the metagame. The game focuses too much on offense and minimizes defensive play. This type of play really benefits swords and hurts brawlers/projectile users.

This is why I switched from C Falcon to Ike. The meta of Smash Ultimate is long range everything, whether it be Link's projectiles or Ike's massive sword (lol). I will always love fucking people up with C Falcon who are clearly inexperienced, but when it comes to game time, you gotta go with range over close distance.
