Ragna and Es are pretty good if you’re new to fighting games overall, but if you’re just new to BlazBlue, Makoto is also fine

Currently downloading the game. Do you guys play on your keyboard or is there a specific arcade controller that needs to be used? Only thing that stopped me from playing street fighter games on computer is because all i have is a keyboard. I hate joysticks but love arcade controllers as long as it's sturdy and doesn't move around (which is why i never bought one. It needs to be stable just like an arcade).

This goes for just about any fighter, you can use literally any controller you want and you'll likely be fine. That includes keyboards. Just use whatever's the most comfortable to you.

If often say keyboard / hitbox is the most optimal way to play. If you are using a keyboard look if it doesn't have ghosting issues. After that it just practice

Bullet really shows that this game is a lot of fun learning as it doesn't take much practice time to get up and go play online, but the amount of universal mechanics like the 2B as a counterpoke and anti air is annoying, boring, and can reduce a lot of interactions to just counterpoke to reset neutral rather than well thought out punishes. Game is good for beginners but the longer you play the more the flaws show.
