I feel like everytime Mango plays Armada its exciting because he has to play on point to beat him and always forces Mango to bring out the best in him otherwise he wont stand a chance. But its also exciting to watch Mango play M2K because they always seemed relaxed playing each other and really let loose and they really let out some cool stuff and do the honor stocks, etc.

I feel that m2k had plenty of opportunities to get percentage on Mango with chain grabs, but he kept failing to convert after the grabs in two different ways. 1. He kept jabbing in grab at early percents, Mango was able to mash out of it and m2k failed to adapt to this issue. 2. Up-tilting in the 20s disrupted the chain grabs and prevented m2k from getting more percentage and even stocks.

Just as a reminder for everyone that watched Paragon and claimed that M2K choked in the last game. I remember everyone saying that M2K should have just down tilted to keep Mango off of the stage after his side B. However, you can see that a down tilt does NOT always work against a side as you can see at 3:20. Just wanted to throw that out there.

M2K was definitely playing differently here. Granted, it's only relatively recently that I've started watching him, but the early pummels, the up-tilts at low percents, and the counter and the Dancing Blade he threw out in neutral in game 1 definitely weren't things I've seen him do often before. He still played pretty well despite all that, just he could have done so much better.

It looked exaclty like how marth would be played in Sm4sh. He used dancing blade as if mango would get chained in it like in 4. Also his up throws i think he was uptilting because in 4 you can air dodge alot quicker so i feel like he was used to that and was making sure he would get a hit completely forgetting mango has more time to fall and he could regrab. Its obvious m2k is investing his techs in sm4sh and im ok with that. We need more big names.

Ken introduced me to Marth, and M2K made me explore Marth. M2K's always been one of my favorite players and one of the reason I main Marth. But it sucks to see him not do as good anymore and will probably never win a national again. now its only Armada (who is one of my favorites as well) and hungrybox who are the only 1 einning tournament, Maybe Leffen and Mango with a possibility of winning too. but outside of that. PPMD and M2K probably wont win anymore because they dont practice as much as the others now.

You can tech a spike if you DI towards the wall and tech it there . There's also meteor canceling , not sure if that's what you're referring to though .

+Nicky Lam In Smash 4, all meteor smashes can't be meteor cancelled-if they send you down, you can't stop (unless you tech of the wall but that's a different thing altogether). In melee, it's not so clear cut. Some moves which send you down are spikes such as Marth's dair and Falco's dair. Spikes will send you down no matter what. But other moves, like Falcon's dair, are meteor smashes, and can be meteor cancelled to stop your descent, but you need to be pretty quick.

it's so hard to to switch between smash 4 and melee because they are just soo different. Whenever i play smash 4 for too long melee starts to feel clunky, and then when i play melee for too long smash 4 starts to feel gross and disgusting.. it's a weird trade.

the only thing that's a BLUR is his vision!! i was annoyed at how much the commentator blur kept exaggerating just how early m2k's up-tilts were. m2k never up-tilted in the 'early 20s'; at 7:42, it was 28%; at 8:29, it was 27%; at 9:19, it was 32%; and at 11:07, 30%-the 32% one, blur even said was done "at 20 percent"!! the last two were bad because utilt was not the correct choice given mango's DI, which was non-existent. the first two could've continued it if mango didn't DI into marth after the utilt; all marth mains who chaingrab know that at as low as 24%, utilt on fox/falco (when behind) can lead into a regrab if they don't DI into marth after the utilt. if they do, there's not enough time to do anything but watch them hit the ground. you can see m2k realise this on the second one where he's just waiting to begin dash-dancing/tech-chasing. that said, it's not the best choice. the commentary was also off about the so-called "early" pummels. m2k always does that. you can pummel a level 9 at 2% once before throwing, provided you don't delay (and we all know about their superhuman mashing). the error here is not early pummeling, but it was m2k's failure to adapt to mango mashing out. it's painfully obvious to all-mango, especially-that all m2k wants is the grab. he gets so much off of one grab that he may as well be playing ICs, so of course mango will be ready to mash as soon as grabbed. apparently, m2k wasn't thinking. both his tech and mindgame were not on point this set.
