Honestly, there needs to be tournaments strictly held with low tier characters. This would definitely change the meta as more time spent with these characters would lead to more discoveries of tech.

EDIT: On another note, I think the community could be called up on to vote where the cutoff should be for what characters are allowed in this event. It would be great if this kind of tournament happens enough that the tier lists see massive overhauls due to new tech being discovered which can shift matchups in new directions

Ganon vs Doc is a pretty even and exciting matchup. They both kind of destroy each other, and the matchup is pretty skill based. At low level Ganon destroys him, but at high level it gets pretty even.

I like how no one talks about the unfun nature of this matchup is for Ganon, literally in every game melee & onward. People fondly remember this type of heavy matchup from the casual/friendly matches they've played over the years, but competively speaking Ganon gets so screwed here despite being slightly "higher" on the tier list.

It was still quite close. Remember that Ganon SD'd twice, and it happened to Mekk who was by far their best player as well. If he hadn't done that it's likely this would have been a last stock situation, whereas if none was there then I'd bet the ganons would have handedly won.

Melee Ganon and DK are close in power, but Ult DK is considered noticeably above Ganon. A more apt Ult matchup would be difficult to determine due to the roster size and the way people dispute the lower-mid tiers
