I’d say 2 decent games out of a VGM box is a success. Tecmo Bowl, and Real Monsters is solid.

I did short change the animations for the walk cycle in this video - that's probably the best part of the game. :P

I haven't played aaaahhh real monsters but that seems like the one I would be most interested in. Top gun maybe second tier. The rest for me would be meh but glad you can enjoy some of them.

Good lord, opening with a Joe Hendry reference?! Doesn’t matter what else is in this video, this is already gold! Temp Bowl is good, but I’ve been a Tecmo Super Bowl guy…one of my all-time favorite games. Haven’t played any of the rest, but looks like it wasn’t the best month…but that’s what happens sometimes. And there's nothing wrong with that in the slightest! It's definitely not for everyone - for me, it's a chance to build up a retro collection with things I've never played or never owned, and it's EASY content for the channel. :)

We need to get John Riggs on making Hockey Fight. It would be a Mike Tyson pallet swap where every fighter is a Hall of Fame hockey player culminating in a battle with Wayne Gretzky.

Ahh real monsters is a good time. Its nice to see some care taken into strategic platforming when it could have just been mindless collecting of toe nails. Its also similar to the genesis Animaniacs game. Boy infiltrator is disappointing. When you were probably hoping for Tiger Heli, Raid on Bungling Bay, or even Firehawk. These simulator type games on nes have aged terribly.

Not a horrible box this month but also not the best. Techmo Bowl is a winner and Aaah Real Monsters looks pretty cool. I was always curious about Lester. Guess I didn’t miss out on anything special 😝 Great video as always my friend!

Nice box this month! Ahh real monsters is a fun game once you get used to the controls so that would be my pick of the box. I'm not subscribed to VGM but I am subscribed to a different video game mystery box which I got DK64 and 3 really cool gamecube games. Love the Joe Hendry references lol

I can see not liking flying games but not liking top gun? Did I hear that right??? That top gun game reminds me of Superman 64. I got ahhh real monsters on snes a few months ago. Takes a lot of time to figure stuff out . I’m not a huge fan because it’s not my time period. Tecmo bowl is definitely the winner of the box for me . I paused VGM for a few months as I regather my purpose of gathering games and how I do it to lean more on stuff I want more. It’s not an easy balance.Infiltrator is a game that I see as a reason I don’t collect for that genre cause there are quite the number of games where I categorize as meh and I’d like to be excited to open and play. Still love watching the unboxings every month

Yeah, not a Top Gun fan. It was a little too grown up for me when it released (I think I was 7?) and I was firmly entrenched in GI Joe fandom. Tried to watch it decades later and just didn't care. I hate flying, so a movie about flying is a hard sell. 😜 Tecmo Bowl is a huge win, and it's just as fun today as it was in the 80s - I played got about an hour when I was grabbing footage. I completely understand your reasons for pausing your sub - a completely valid and healthy reasoning! But I also appreciate you continuing to watch. :)

No, it is really not. Understanding the controls isn't the issue. It's just a very badly designed game that is NOT fun to play.

They definitely do excellent work with regards to CS, it's impressive to see especially knowing how lean they run behind the scenes a bit from being friends with Joe.

I believe Lester the Unlikely gets better as you progress, Lester becomes more capable, or so I've been led to believe. 90s cartoon really ramped up the oddball 😉

Infiltrator was one of the few games we had growing up, because our NES came second hand from a church sale. Even for all of the nostalgia I have for it, I definitely can say it's pretty lousy game lmao

Wouldn’t mind trying top gun I still need Tecmo bowl and real monsters. I am doing a Summer of Sega on my channel with vgm getting Genesis game gear and Dreamcast. Love The Joe Hendry stuff.

I fully support anyone doing their own Summer of Sega approach - it's been a great way for me to narrow down my collecting a bit which has been VERY helpful going to expos and game stores. I've found I've both spent less this year and gotten more stuff that I actually want - which is a weird feeling. :D I Believe In Joe Hendry.
