He made a real Hendrix when he wrote City Love - Hendrix used to make the opposite thing though, he would take things and make it into women, as an example: Little Wing was about a town that he really loved because of the hippie mood and free love, but he didn't know how to write about it so he made it into a woman! It's actually kinda funny that John did the opposite!

@krazygideon I think having a big ego is pretty common for people who are willing to do everything to achieve their goals. I don't know why it's so heavily debated with John, maybe because his presence is a little bit assholish some times but however, when he's asked to tell about his new album he can't go "well the situation in africa etc" Operasingers have a huge ego too, they have to, the same with gourmet chefs, tour de france competitors, manager of huge companies etc etc
