damn, that automates recording a DVD onto VHS too? i'm surprised the movie companies didn't throw a fit like the music companies did about DAT and file sharing and all of that. i mean, you could do that with multiple units too. i remember hooking up my DVD player through my VCR's passthrough and copying my friends' DVDs (which i'd borrowed) onto blank VHSes so i could still watch them (albeit in degraded quality) after i returned them. good times. i'm don't actually remember if i ever watched those copies, though. i'm pretty sure all those VHSes are in the loft in my parents' house, but that's faaaar away now. and also tbh the moisture in there may have degraded the tapes to shit by now anyway.

Once I found a car in the middle of assfuck nowhere, on a very long stretch of forest road. A week later it was still there. My friend went up to it and none of the doors were locked. There was a moldy glass of tea in the middle cupholders and a bank receipt in the glovebox. Whoever it was, seemingly withdrew the few hundred dollars they had. In the backseat was a VHS-C in a bag, I assumed was meant for the camera, and a single bullet. The bullet was too small to be from anything but a handgun- so they person wasn't a hunter. Besides, it wasn't hunting season yet. Two cars drove by as we were trying to get in the trunk, so we left. I didn't want to get arrested for rummaging through an abandoned car. We didn't brake anything but the moldy cup of tea, so I assume nobody tried to find us. The next day the car wasn't there anymore. I have the tape still and I want to know whats on it but I can't justify spending a bunch of money on tech I'm only going to use once. :CC
