Seriously, as someone who know a few top pros working for Hollywood, they laugh at plug-ins and consider them a complete waste of money and a purchase showcasing a lack of skills and confidence, except perhaps for Film Convert (even tho). For instance, I got this secret from my friend Lazslo Mates (senior FX technician for Hollywood Blockbuster been 17 years), some pro colorist figured out that if you convert Black Magic LOG to REC 709 color space, gamut, and input while preserving then mapping the luminance, and output in Arri Alexa colorspace, you gain what looks to be 1.5-2 fstops of dynamic range...!!! :O So yeah, you can actually grab a Pocket Cinema Camera for 500 bucks off eBay and fool producers who will likely believe it was shot on either Alexa or Red. NOT kidding. That's just one of many many tricks. DPs making their own custom rails from PVC, various rigging elements, suspending chinese paper lights on a stick and have an assistant following the camera with it... Rogers Deakins says he still look like a fool on set with strings of fluo lights... all in all... Amateurs are the ones who are afraid of experimenting and creating. Real pros are NOT afraid of what they look like or what people think. They know exactly what to do, they don't think about it so much so as they *feel* it from years of trying and making mistakes on their own. Gear is nothing in the balance. A cinema projector is 2K... you film 4K? ...Congrats, I guess... ;) All in all, we have a real pro here. That's why people are so surprised of the "no plug-in". Why would you need any plug-in when you know how to really use the tools are your disposal? She is great. Very pro. Creative. I would hire her to grade my footage in a pinch! :)

Tip: If you do these effects on an empty title, you can use it as an adjustment layer and not have to worry about copying and pasting each effect to each clip, and also makes it easy and quick to make changes. You could also make all clips a compound clip, which would allow you to add a one-for-all VHS effect and makes it easy to make it sound like VHS too, using high/low pass, bit crusher, compressor, etc.

I use fcpx and its been fine up until recently. I use an iphone to get my clips by screen recording than sending the clips via airdrop and it was fine up until recently. It lags and i have ti constantly render the clips over n over after cutting them, adding more of the clip, adding effects, etc. Would u know a solution or reason for this happening?
