True urban "street" skating vibe. This ain't sunny California.

This was one of the first skate videos I ever had. One of the reasons I moved to NYC. Some of these guys became my closest friends and I'll never forget how magical it was to skate NYC in the late 90's/early 2000's. Thank you R.B. for all the Zoo vids!!!

This is the skateboarding I knew and grew up in. Awesome!! Skating Manhattan from 1996 - 2000 was a privilege and a time I'll always cherish. Good to see this video again after all this time.

For some reason, 😢I didn't see Mixtape until a few years ago. I remember seeing it for sale at a local skateshop. I guess I went with Shorty' Fulfill the Dream because I was 13 y o. I wish I had bough both but I can't believe I never saw it. Still have Mixtape on VHS.

Loved the Stevie Williams, Josh Kalis, Rob Dyrdek sess. Back then Josh was around any hype scene that was going on. NYC, Philly, SF, Dallas, he was everywhere the streets were.

That big plaza in Dallas always looked sick plus the Marble Gardens spot. It's funny that 2 huge skaters who were more associated with hip-hop got they're start on Toy Machine skateboards, Kalis and Muska. I love Josh Kalis' part in Heavy Metal and Muska's lost part from Welcome to Hell. The latter definitely would've been weird if it was actually in the video because the hip-hop soundtrack would've been out of place, I bet that's part of the reason Ed Templeton cut his part.

I think this video was from 1998. Anyways, always loved the vibe they created here, very east coast and makes me want to skate. Original dope tunes to boot. The Huf and Quim section is priceless 💖🙏

It has honestly been quite a few years since I uploaded this, but I'm fairly confident that I got the release date off the cover. just wondering what makes you think it's not 1999?
@townground4 жыл бұрын
@@VHSskatetube I'm going off of memory. That was my senior year in high school, and I remember when my brother got it. I thought it was Peep This in 1998, then Heads in 1999. It's entirely possible they were both 1999, Peep This coming out right after the new year. That could be were I'm getting the 1998 from, is that some of the fashions and decks featured were definitely 1998. But that makes sense if it was filmed spring/summer/fall of 1998. Anyways, I have the original VHS somewhere, when I find it, I'll let you know. ✌️💖
