It's OK to demand political autonomy. Who doesn't want more autonomy ? But who will bear the cost ? In terms of money ( States like JK etc meet only 30 % of their funds requirement from own funds ) A modern political principle in democracies is : "NO REPRESENTATION WITHOUT TAXATION ". Financial Independence/ autonomy is therefore essential before leaders demand higher set of powers / Autonomy. Why should rest of India fund States / UTs which are not able to even maintain proper law and order and ensure good Governance? Why should rest of India lose its brave soldiers in JK in the face of hostile actions by neighbors, including Pakistan. What good is such autonomy for ordinary people of JK ? Greater Political autonomy / powers , without responsible governance, is like having power without Responsibility.
