At the roots of an open and multicultural Europe.
Alle radici di un'Europa aperta e solidale.
Monk Nikulas Bergsson's increbible journey from the benedictine monastery of Munkaþverá, in the north of Iceland. In middle ages he sailed to Norway and then travelled overland to Germany, Rome and to the holy land.
His "via francigena", his pilgrim diary known as the "Leiðarvísir".
Today this journey is secular and anticlerical journey, moved by the suggestions generated by the book by Paolo Rumiz, "The infinite thread" Feltrinelli ed. 2019.
San Benedetto, a great leader from the mountains of central Italy, a man who draws the strength from the pastoral world of his land to re-found Europe. What did Benedict's monks do if not planting fortresses for work and spirituality in the most uncultivated areas of Europe and then weaving together a solid network of threads?
