Great advice to the last caller! I am 30, but it makes me really happy to hear you give younger women the advice to prioritize themselves and not focus so much on dating/marriage/finding "the one". Travel is also so enriching at that age, so hopefully she is able to put some of that energy into more memorable moments.

That's terrible advice and mindset for young women.

First caller’s GBFF doesn’t need romance he needs community. As a queer person I love my heterosexual friends but they are things that they will never understand no matter how much they try to help. I think encouraging this person to find community to help him overcome his clear trauma is what he needs. With all do respect I don’t think gathering a group of heterosexuals to help figure out “what to do” with a gay man is kinda dare I say not the mood

construction business dude: she's not the one for him. Regardless of how busy and focused he is, he still says he wants marriage and kids in the future, but he's just not saying he wants those WITH HER.... because she's not the one! he's prob afraid to break up w her and/or obvs enjoying her company w/o the commitment in the meantime. Which is so messed up on his part) So, she needs to do it now, ASAP. and I doubt he will change or fight for her. Best she moves on now.

I had to add this comment - renting may not be adding equity and savings, but it also teaches you how to be an independent adult. It's worth it to live and learn about yourself for at least a year. Also - I understand Nick's advice on this caller whose boyfriend doesn't want to commit to a future. Maybe the reality is that is where he is at. Most people get divorced and not getting married while you're still trying to figure out your life is not a bad thing. He's telling her how much he can commit with his actions. She's trying to push the idea of marriage on a guy who has shown the opposite of this need. Live as a single person, because that is how he's treating you and when both of you have matured enough decide later in life.

Minneapolis & St Paul have a river between them. Before so many bridges were built, the barge captains had their names of the areas. It's the reason West St Paul (a suburb) is SOUTH of St Paul. The barge & river boat captains called anything on "that" side of the river, west. Minneapolis is west, St Paul is east. There are 2 different types of people. Minneapolis think they're "cool", St Paul know they're cool ... but don't flaunt it as much 😅 There are so many bridges & they all have their own personalities too!

That guy is building a career and a financial foundation for the future..this is amazing..they are young and have so many years to focus on the relationship and marriage. She's not seeing the value of this right now if anything she's holding him back. She needs to grow up a bit, not be so marriage focused. There's way more to life than that..he's working hard now so he can enjoy life later at before he turns into an old man.

I think you miss the point of the call. He’s not even talking about a future with her in general she doesn’t want to waste her time. He could dump her tomorrow. He is not validating her feelings at all.
@allisonalberts4386 Жыл бұрын
It's a spectrum. Everyone wants to put you in a box: gay, straight, etc. And if you try to say oh well I'm attracted to this person, people attack you or say you're lying. Why can't he be generally attracted to males, but also have some females he's attracted to? Regardless, she clearly isn't attracted to him, so she just needs to tell him that. But he's allowed to be bi/or somewhere inbetween.

For the Gay BF, it sounds to me that he loves her as a person, as a human. Its obvious that he really cherishes her as a friend and maybe is having some self hatred towards his sexuality. What he needs is support and community.

Hey Nick maybe stop making fun and mocking your “writer inners”. It comes off as super cocky and rude and narcissistic. Treat your listeners with respect, don’t mock them and belittle them or talk to them and about them in a condescending way, that’s not a good look at all.
@Goddess_Jade Жыл бұрын
I agree. People will be reluctant to call in if they are being judged..

Hey man, nicks gonna call a spade a spade. Plus, this person is clearly very weak and cowardly, because not only are they considering having an affair but they're not even gonna have the decency to go on the show and talk about it themselves they have to anonymously write in.
