The amazing thing is that these huge structures are made of recycled materials and it is rather wonderful that newspapers that told stories are being used to tell another story. We were amused that 'Il Sole 24 ore' ( the Italian FT was the best quality paper.)

Thanks for this the last time we went was in 2019 and it was fantastic. We're thinking if going again as we're over in Lucca for the first time this year when carnival is on. It was wonderful to get insight into all the work that goes into the floats. They are so impressive, one day we will make it to the museum too

Heading back to Benabbio on Monday for the carnival , do you recommend any particular day ? We are hoping to book a stay in Lucca from the 16th for three nights with the intention of going to Viareggio for the carnival but can go any one of the other days . We absolutely love love love your videos x Toni & Mark

Thank you for following us and for your lovely comment. Some carnival dates are in the evening and some in the afternoon, so it depends on what you fancy. There are also parties in the evening in various districts. All the links are below the video. You can also buy tickets on the day.

There is a ticket to pay. You can either buy online link in the description below the video or on the day at the parade. It is the last day when the winner will be annouced so it might be very busy. Have fun.
