An amazing presentation, as always.

Fantastic work!! You can get a similar result by calculating all possible quantum states in a "sphere of energy" using the energy eingenvalues of the particle in a box. It's just an approximation but I find it quite interesting.

Great video! Distinguishable atoms by whom? Would an observer who can measure different isotopes get a different measure for entropy than an observer who can't? Would there be any real world impact, or some kind of relativity-esque world where both agree on laws of physics but disagree about the amount of entropy and a whole bunch of knock-on measurements because of it?

Thanks. Indistinguishable = fundamentally indistinguishable, in principle, by any physical means. If there are different isotopes, those have to be treated as separate "species" of atoms (plus the mass parameter m will be different, and this allows different isotopes to be physically distinguished and separated). As we will discuss in the next installment, the absolute entropy given by the Sackur-Tetrode equation is measurable. So, even if an observer has no mechanism to distinguish different isotopes, s/he will still measure a different entropy if different isotopes are present.
