I am a splicer on the trouble crew and have used a 3M 965 DSP for virtually my whole career. I love the DSP but it's 20 year old technology. We are supposed to get some Viavi meters to demo and I can't wait to try one out. I realize that a meter, no matter how advanced, will make up for a solid decade and a half of outright neglect of the copper outside plant on the part of my employer. Still, it will be great to have this tool to help my customers get the service they're paying for.

@Prefers Anonymity so..... You JUST work with JDSU HST-3000 ? hehe must be tough working with a $6,000 piece of instrumentation huh ? Mate, there are guys still running around with and LTS-2 next time you power up your HST-3000 spare a thought for the poor bastards that didn't get issued one hehe

@@KinGIIRomE No mate, Actually when they came out $6,600 feel free to quote me on it However... recently with the rollout of the NBN and the ditching of the PSTN over FTTP, FTTC, and HFC and with the introduction of the Viavi ONX-620 which has superseded ONX-580 and has made the JDSU HST 3000 pretty much redundant I'm now seeing them between $500 and $2,000 but make no mistake, when they came out mate, they were $6,600 if you got a bargain you MAYBE could get it for $5,800 so doubt what you like but that was the price
