I really enjoy Jeff's pacing and relative story telling during his training. It's very engaging. Thanks!

I fought tooth and nail to get an ONX to replace my 3M DSP (which I love but is 20+ years old) but my employer went with the Sidekick Plus instead. So, I'm keeping my antique DSP! Would love to at least try a Viavi meter!

Great refresher content here and presented well. Wish the narrator did our course when I was a trainee!

Hi Jeff love to watch your training on KZbin about VIAVI OneExpert coppers network tester. I am coppers and xDSL network technician, and I have VIAVI OneExpert, I can easily fix foreign battery, open circuit, earth fault, but come to intermittent drops out and also cross talk connect coppers pair, very hard to fix drop out and find cross talk fault when the coppers line doesn't show foreign battery, open circuit, earth, capacitance imbalance fault. Please share your experiences how to fix these problems.

some good info here.... I need to send this to my frontier communications tech! I have set up a cisco ISR router with a xDSL modem card, and have been begging for them to enable annex M, but none of them seem to know what it is, or how to enable it on the DSLAM. Give me 5 minutes on the telnet console and I could have things set up like they should be....

I work in the field. i wasn't provided or trained to use any type of meter. I hook up the pair assigned to me and after testing through the modem Ill see down/upstream errors. I wish I had someone like you teaching me what tool to use, and how to use it. im here on my own time trying to figure out how to reduce repeats. the only thing I use to tell if the fx/distribution line is goo by listening with my butt set for loud noise on my speaker. . i need a good tool to that will find a good spare pare to use. ... help.

How do I use this meter as a 1 gig modem? Someone told me to put a ethernet cord in port 2 and plug into the back of my device and it should work but it doesn't
@martinkuliza4 жыл бұрын
LOL.... You're funny there's a reason why it didn't work the reason is .. In order for a Modem or a device to have internet it MUST be configured to work with an internet provider and BE CONNECTED to said provider is the viavi connected to the internet if it's got a cable going from itself to your laptop ANSWER : NO... Not a chance in the world that's why it didn't work

This thing ain't sealed. Mine was in the rain for only 10 minutes and it wouldn't run TRUE tests. That was a fun day of calling for approvals after copper jobs.

Hi @Blake_Hardy. We are sorry to hear about your experience. Please visit our support portal (viavisolutions dot com slash support) so this doesn't happen again. The ONX-580 has been designed and tested for water ingress to be “rain proof” and has an IP54 rating for water / dust ingress so this shouldn't have happened. Good luck and thanks for watching!
