I’m a white 63 yr old RUSH geek and I have listened to this song a BILLION times. Her band is so cool and she is a GOAT! “Is it a Crime” is another favorite of mine she’s so beautiful and cool. Sade Adu is the singer and Sade is actually the band. They write the majority of their own material, and have been together for forty years. Saw them back in the early 90s at Roy Thompson Hall here in Toronto and it was the perfect evening. I would take her smooth and emotional voice over her contemporaries who performed vocal gymnastics for no real reasons. They record rarely, tour even less, but I recommend them to anyone.

You know you are a legend, when people just ask, "Do you like Sade?" Not, do you like jazz, soul, r+b, etc. She is her own genre. Pure silk in her voice. The instrumentation is an eargasm every time. It just hits you deep in the subconscious. It is a mood hijacker. Hence, just one word...Sade. Her music is one of most pure expressions of what it means to be a human being. The music is bursting with life and authenticity. Most don't really get Sade until you learn to slow down, and just be present. A mature ear sound.
