Weighing in at about 290lbs, I couldn't be happier in this kayak. This is my first one and coming from motorboats to this was a great investment. Fishing and manuevrability is a breeze in the sea ghost 110.

I'm about 6', 275, do you have any stability problems in the 110? Are you able to stand? I'm currently fishing out of a Pescador 10 foot kayak and I feel like I'm going to tip constantly and I'm looking to upgrade to a little more stable boat for my size and I'm torn between the 110 and the 130. Unfortunately there aren't any Vibe dealers around me to try them out :/

Nice review, looks real nice for the length. I notice you may review a few other kayaks. I have a Viking Profish 400 which I really like, not a standing kayak but good paddling yak. @Outwestwithchris16 жыл бұрын
Those Viking Profish 400 look really nice and I'd love to review one at some point. I'm actually not sure if any dealers in my area carry them though. I typically "borrow" kayaks from a demo fleet for some of these reviews, just because it would get expensive to purchase that many kayaks! Regarding the gopro, I can lean forward and click the record button on the one that faces me. I've tried using the remote before but it just seems to drain the battery a little faster. Great review! I'm still torn between the Sea Ghost 110 and Feel Free Lure 11.5 for my 1st fishing kayak. Best bang for the buck is the 110 but leaning towards the Lure 11.5 for the seat and standing ability. Only con ive heard about is how slow it can be for paddling. So im wondering if its worth it to sacrifice speed over stability? Your thoughts? Liked and subscribe!
@Outwestwithchris16 жыл бұрын
It kinda depends on how you plan on fishing. If you want to stand a lot then the stability of the Lure will be a big deal. If you are fishing lakes and you need to paddle far distances then the lure might be a bit on the slow side for you. Overall, the Lure has a great seat, way better than the vibe, and in my opinion it has a better overall build quality. Hope that helps!

Thanks for a great review. I am considering this kayak or the Moken 10 Lite. Do you have any experience with the Moken 10 lite? I am curious which is the most stable for fishing. I'm not a big guy(5'10 and 140 lbs) and will use my kayak on Stillwater/freshwater lakes. No rivers or ocean. Which of these two kayaks do you feel is most stable for my needs the Sea Ghost 110 or the Moken 10 lite? That's for your help.
@Outwestwithchris17 жыл бұрын
Kenny Gilman I've never paddled the Moken but from what I have heard it is fairly stable. I would guess that you could stand and fish in the SeaGhost but I would also guess the Moken would be a little more stable. If you can, try to paddle both before you buy. Thanks for watching, hope that helps.

Awesome review, so I kayak fish in the ocean mainly and currently have an enormous tandem equinox Costco tandem kayak that is a beast fo 1 guy (80lbs+) and I'm in the market for a small fairly light, stable fishing kayak. What I was looking at was the Feel Free lure 11.5, and then I saw the vibe. I've read tons of reviews and the vibe (in camo blue) looks like it fits the bill. I'm not afraid of going out in the ocean by any means but just wanted your opinion on how well the vibe preforms in the ocean? Or if you have had a chance to test it in the ocean yet. I'm 6'1" 210 lbs. You think the vibe 110 is a good fit for my specs? Also another factor is I drive a short bed f150 with a bed extension and I do carry my 14' Costco beast in the bed currently. Thanks and nice 7lbr👍

I have not taken the Vibe, or the Feelfree, into the salt but if I had to choose between one of those two I would go with the SeaGhost 130. It will be easier to paddle than a Lure and easier to launch in the surf as well.

I just bought the sg110 from headwaters, so far only 1 fishing trip in it to lake Mclure so far im loving it. I’d love to try it out in the delta, but last time I was there in a pontoon boat, there were so many huge yachts and speed boats making huge waves, I imagine it would be a little skechy, do you ever have problems with the boat traffic?
@Outwestwithchris16 жыл бұрын
I've had a few times where wake boats were not paying attention and they got a little close. I'm used to the boat traffic now and the wakes. Some of the big yachts put of huge wakes and you do need to be aware, they can dump a boat if you don't reorient your bow.

For the way I fish I like the Lure better than the Vibe. Pro's for the Vibe - Cost w/ rudder included. Lighter than a lure. Faster than a Lure. Pro's for the Lure - Thicker Plastic (can take a beating). Even more Stable, makes standing and fishing ridiculously easy. Better Deck Layout than the Vibe (thru hull transducer mounting, wide open deck space, etc). The Wheel in the Keel is a very, very nice feature. Hope that helps.

Dewayne Webb I think it would be sufficient unless you wanted to stand up. When I first started paddling it the kayak felt "tippy" but I got used to it and became pretty comfortable in it. I'm 6 ft about 220 so we aren't too far apart size wise. I have a feeling you might be more comfortable with something a little more stable though. Hope that helps.

@shellcracker183 жыл бұрын
This or pelican catch?
@wilsonjr57136 жыл бұрын
I own this same kayak there’s no way I would try and stand in this it’s way to tippie also the toe rudder controls really suck the metal clips always pop out while trying to control rudder also while using toe controls the plastic is real cheap feels like there going to snap while pushing down. Hard to use toe controls does not control rudder well the right one works ok left feels like it’s ready to break off and rudder won’t turn properly after many attempts still can’t control well.. If I could redo I would of saved a little more and bought a different brand
@Outwestwithchris16 жыл бұрын
Bummer man, have you talked to your dealer about the toe control? There might be a tension issue with the line. I had this one for 6 months a used it hard and didn't have any issues. It is a little tippy with the primary stability but after I got used to the secondary stability I became more comfortable with it.
@wilsonjr57136 жыл бұрын
Out West with Chris yes I purchased kayak from Vibe the response I got back about clip was to screw them on or gorilla glue them so they don’t pop out and regards to rudder control they said I should loosen up cables so they may move more freely but not of that worked for me. I’m getting ready to change the cables to the metal ones. I do really hate the toe control can you recommend another way to control rudder without toe control? Thanks for the response love your videos my friend.
@Outwestwithchris16 жыл бұрын
hmmm, toe control is all I ever have ever used for rudders. I think a lot of pedal drive kayaks use hand controls though. It might be possible to retrofit a rudder system that is hand control but I really am not sure. I think the metal cables are the way to go.

@Outwestwithchris16 жыл бұрын
It's been awhile since I paddled this one but I don't recall it grabbing weeds any more than most do. It's not the best rudder system in the world by any means but it doesn't cost an extra $200-300 after you buy your kayak either.
@pierrelemoine9867 жыл бұрын
One more for you. I heard in a separate video you have a feel free lure. How do these boats compare when it comes to stability? How do they compare overall? Thanks!
@Outwestwithchris17 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do have a Lure 13.5 as well. The Lure 13.5 is much more stable than the vibe SeaGhost 110 but it is a tank in the water. The Vibe is easier to paddle in tight areas and feels a little faster and more nimble. The Seat on the Vibe is nice but the seat on the Lure is really nice (although there is an issue with a screw that works itself loose). Overall the build quality on the lure is better but the price point is higher as well. The Lure does not come stock with a rudder and it absolutely needs one. Hope that helps!
