Vibe Yellowfin 100: First Adventure

This has been a long time in the making. I wanted to get back into kayak fishing for years, and I decided that 2023 was finally going to be the year. I put a lot of time into looking for what kayak was going to suit my needs, and I ended up coming up with the Vibe Yellowfin 100. After my first trip out with it, it definitely gets a 10/10 on Tracking, and it was extremely stable as well. I don't know if its the type of kayak you would want to stand in, but that's more because there is no foot space to really stand up. Having said that there is plenty of leg room and the foot rests are comfortable. The Chair was a huge selling point for me, as I could definitely see myself fishing in it all day and having no issues on comfort.
Coming in at 799.99 it is quite a bit under brands like Old Town, and I think the quality is just as good. It was well worth the wait and the research to pick this beauty out, and I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a solid fishing kayak.

I too heard a bunch of great thing about this Kayak. This would be my first Kayak I own and only rented them before in the past. How would you think this would fair in the Erie Canal? I live in Fairport, NY and was hopping to use this to paddle up and down and do some fishing. Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

This kayak is perfect for the canals, its been nothing but stable during my time using it. I got another video using it coming out pretty soon, I go out onto Cayuga lake with it, where theres some boat traffic. Had no major issues with the wakes from them, you just have to pay attention when there coming by, especially when boat drivers are not paying attention to canal speed limits. No matter what size the kayak is your in, its a much smaller craft than any motor boat causing a wake going down the canal, or out on a lake. So always be mindful of that and you'll be fine.

Hi Greg I just purchased the same exact kayak today and was looking through KZbin for some reviews and came across your video. I live in Rochester NY so we are pretty close🙂. I got a good deal on it at Dicks sporting goods today they are on sale for $479 I was not even planning on buying one but when I saw that price I jumped on it. How do you like it so far?

Hey there! That's a crazy deal, when I was buying it the $750 I got it at was the cheapest price in town. So far the kayak is awesome, Its tracking super well, and it gets up to speed really easy. And I have had no issues with stability. I actually have another video that I am working on right now that I will be releasing sometime this coming week, and I will also be doing another kayak trip soon to, so I will have more to show on the kayak.

I just got that same deal from Dick's. Excited to try this out. I see in the description there's not much room for standing but I'm hoping I can pull it off because it does seem like a pretty stable kayak!
