Sir, you can give analogy of passing out of students from one class to next class. For example, if student take 50% in one class (v=0) then if he take 50% in next higher class (v=1), then ∆j=0, Q line, etc.,

But sir I have a doubt on this lecture,selection rule imforms only ∆j=+-1 are allowed in rotational level...then how it possible to promote v=0 (j=0) to ,v=1(j=2).??plz sir or any one ?????

Sir! I have a doubt that in rotational spectroscopy transition occurred only when "delta J "=+-1 but in diatomic vibrating rotators you are not applying this selection rule ?why is it so ?Explain me sir !
