Dave: I use a Vibroplex paddle, which I love. My point here, however, is that your Reference Transceiver in CW mode, with Break-In selected 'off' is a dandy practice oscillator. I use it in that mode quite frequently. 73 - Walt KT0D

Dave, Really appreciate the good video on this product. Seems like a nice design. It's always convenient to have something like this, that is small and portable, to take anywhere for some quick code practice. I remember decades ago, building code practice oscillators for myself and friends. With a list of components in hand, it was off to my local Radio Shack. Purchased components such as common 555 timer/oscillator chips, capacitors and resistors. Often modified the circuits with variable components so that the audio frequency tone could be adjusted to one's liking, as well. Thanks Dave for reminding me of very fond memories, from years gone by. 73, AC3HT

What about using the CPO with a straight key or paddle? The video makes it sound like the CPO is only for use with a bug.
