In this episode I head up above Licola for a few days of camping and 4x4ing with no real plans, I run into a subscriber Jamie who then tags along as we decide to take the easy track in Kelly Lane and check out the huts, then onto Dimmicks Lookout before setting up camp at Howitt Hut.

Thanks for showing this Gav, brought back a lot of memories from my Air Force days at East Sale back in the early 80's. I used to take my old EH wagon up to Howitt Hut and stash fuel up there for our dirt bike rides. Also used to take the kids up to Bennison lookout and Mt Tamboritha when it was snowing, Crazy, but that's what you did then.

@@muzzo-z-3976 yeah mate you’re correct that a lot of tracks are closed over winter and some of these tracks are included in the closures. I try and keep my content up to date or as close to as possible, unlike most YT channels which are 6 months behind. This was filmed around May from memory. Hope this answers your question.. Thanks for tuning in and watching and taking the time to drop a comment. 👍🏼

Another great video mate. What stretcher are you using?

@@clintAdventures hey Clint, thanks mate. I’m using the Oztent RS-1 from memory, it’s a 1000mm wide stretcher, pretty stable for its size.

@@aguyandhistroopy is that the 23zero bandit 1100 swag your using? if sop how does it fit with the stretcher? do the pole ends (metal loops) sit on or over the edge of the stretcher?
@aguyandhistroopy
@aguyandhistroopy 3 ай бұрын
@@clintAdventures yeah, the stretcher is only 1000mm wide as are most the stretchers. So there is slight overhang on the sides of the stretcher but the overall length is pretty spot on. I have thought about making a short spreader bar for each end and attaching it to the swag. But it works well enough for me. I’m using the Oztent Rs-1. Hope that helps.

@@OutNAboutAustralia hey Luke, depends on whether you want to freeze or be a little warmer. 🤷🏼🤣 You can’t go much further than Howitt Hut due to seasonal closures, so I’d do it in the summer months so you’ll get more areas to explore. If you’re going in winter that diesel heater will get a good working out ! 🤣🤣 My next video will show you what’s further to the west, good tracks, views and better huts. Cheers for the support and thanks for watching. 👍🏼

It truly is a shame to see vandalism in these huts like the burns. I don't even get the graffiti to be honest. You'd think the people who actually take the time to venture out and see these places would be above that and that the infatile brained peanuts who do want to vandalise wouldn't bother going all the way out there. 😢
