I don't see in ear or stage monitors anywhere. For that matter, no pa speakers either. She most likely was running her vox through the house pa. In a gym too, very very poor conditions to begin with. The lack of quality vocally most probably was that combination. The 2 times the camera panned towards her, I could tell she was struggling to hear. Kudos to her for being a good sport about it!
