People don't realize respect or appreciate the life they live here in the United States or the UK the average working family live like kings compared to other countries In the world and I see and hear people constantly complaining about little shit and once you see real poverty it opens your eyes to how lucky we are to have been born in a good country it also makes me want to beat the crap out of people who complain about stupid shit like finding pickles in their burger or getting mad about not getting what they wanted as a gift and if you ain't happy and content with your life after witnessing such things you will never be happy

I have stood on pharmacy road in 2010 and was nearly shot there, I found this is hard to watch. Ben's work is fantastic I'd love to follow in his foot steps and pursue a similar career, these stories need telling, but unfortunately fall on deaf ears the majority of the time. Would love to discuss the Afghan war with Ben.

english1midlands supposedly there is evidence to support your claim and after doing some of my own research I read that the CIA trained a large number of current Islamic state fighters thinking they were part of the free Syrian army and would help overthrow Assad which at the time was Obama's priority. of the 100 million dollars in weapons sent to Syria a large number have now fallen into the hands of IS. these types of "mistakes" should never have happened especially if we are to believe the people who made them were experts in their fields. Obama's excuses let him take legal cover but that doesn't change the fact the US strongly contributed to IS rise.

***** actually it's worse than islamic law.They follow a code called pashtunwali, apparently they are descendants from israelites so i have heard. Anyways pashtunali is very strict law. Look it up. And i wouldn't say the people want to follow it because it's mainly a minority of pashtun tribe that follow it, most of afghanistan is made of persians, some turks and mongols.

He’s, by far, the best reporter of that region. He develops relationships with locals and the troops that are deeper than the typical fake stuff I see from most reporters reporting in foreign countries. He also handles being under fire amazingly well compared to others who are hiding from a gunshot from 1 km away

You're absolutely right. The only other person I've ever found that came close was Michael Ware's work surrounding Al-Zarqawi and the Iraqi invasion in 2003. Check out "Only The Dead" if you ever get a chance! Maybe not as hard-hitting as Ben's stuff, but it's still great.

That interviewer died in 2013 aged 33. His name is Michael Hastings, he had a manic episode and crashed his car into a tree @100mph in Los Angeles. There was a lot of controversy surrounding his death but it turned out to be a tragic accident.

When the American soldiers gave the deceased members' family money as reconciliation, that part pissed me off. The soldiers seemed proud, almost like they were doing an extremely noble deed.
