The pain and panic in Joaquin’s voice is so heartbreaking I can’t even imagine the pain this has caused him. What really pisses me off the most is whoever though it was a good idea to expose River’s postmortem funeral pics. It’s almost impossible not to run into whenever you look him up. Very disrespectful and I hope they never get to see it. I wish there was a way to get it taken down from the internet for good nobody deserves to have such a disturbing picture floating in the media without his family’s consent it’s disrespectful to them and his memory.

30 years already... It was such a tragedy. I was just a girl in my early teens from a third world country, but I loved all his films, specially his latest ones. He was a really great actor. He wanted to be a musician and he was starting that route. He would have been successful on anything he wanted. But his childhood was traumatic and mixed with drugs, it was really awful. The fact that he died outside and his young brother making the call, hearing Joaquin's voice it's really so sad. River is greatly missed ❤️

I was only 7. Logically I don’t understand why his death is such a big deal to me to this day. Im torn apart by it and I never knew him. Maybe because I watched Stand By Me a lot as a kid? And The Last Crusade? I really feel like I lost a friend and hero.

River actually went to The Viper cause he was gonna play on stage. He ended up not playing with the band and that's when the hard-partying started. Flea (Red Hot Child Peppers) has actually been in numerous interviews where he says that maybe River would still be alive today had they let him come on stage as planned and let him rock out.

yeah it was an emergency and it's just goofy how you people are acting all sensitive about the intensity of the situation and trying to 'blame' the operator for how it went. He wasn't making Joaquin freak out and scream at people, and THAT is what held the situation up more than anything if you want to put blame somewhere. Go ahead, blame Joaquin for being upset just like you're blaming the operator for having to deal with it. It's equally stupid either way.

I feel like this is the tragic outcome of his abusive upbringing. His parents raised him in this weird cult that had sexual abuse. He had to stand on street corners begging for his food. He had to support his family growing up. He never really went to school. His upbringing was totally messed up. That's a big part of why everything happened.

Yes, it was frequently mentioned that he and River were brothers, and Joaquin was with him when he died, but that 911 call wasn't released to the public until the 2010's. Anyone over the age of 15 could remember the backlash against the media, for broadcasting a family's traumatic moment for clicks. I'm actually ashamed to have made it this far into the video.

Let's get a few things straight. First of all, this picture where he's staring back at his friend myself. Who just throw water on a f****** a****** that called him a f***** That wasn't from the Viper room. The night he died at the Viper room he had short dark hair and I was with him. He was planning to play. When I stopped by the viper room looking for him on October 30 1993, it was because he invited me to hear him play that night, And the reason why he didn't want to go at first was because he knew that someone had threatened him. But while we were talking about whether or not they would threaten his siblings in his absence he decided to go. I had to delete my previous comment because of the words that came out of my mouth when I described the people in the Viper room refused to call 911. The people in the Viper room refused to call 911. You read that correctly. That was why I had to go next door to get Joaqun while Rain was giving River rescue breaths. My name is Cynthia Beth last name was Shebar at the time. I was wearing Rivers jeans the night that he died and his shirt. And I am so disgusted and sick of the hollywood machine that continues to promote their brand stories protecting the mafia that has done so much damage. ASK Joaquin Bottom Phoenix where he was when he was told his brother was in trouble. He was next door in a place where people could get food. We had to find him to call because the fucking viper room refused to call 911. They refused. We had no cell phones. We had no help. We had monsters drugging us and denying the enormous pain and abuse that was inflicted on our lives

@@timetheory84 If you take a course in Victims of Crime, Criminology, you will learn the most common responses to a victimization. The most common response is to deny or blame the person who was harmed. That is because people want to believe their world is safe and predictable. They are uncomfortable with information that changes their world view. They don't want to have to feel badly or be afraid it could happen to them. Also when people are complicit in a crime, they don't want to get in trouble. The most common response is to say the person who was harmed is crazy or lying or say it was a bad person who deserved whatever happened to them. I have shared a lot here. You have shared nothing of yourself. What's your name? Are you a reporter? What's your office phone number? If you only have things to say based on what you read in the paid advertisements Hollywood gossip column, I feel compelled to help you realize that a world exists beyond what has been sold to you When you ask questions about traumatic events, the person really doesn't owe you answers at all. Appreciate the honor it is when someone shares about their pain and entrust you. You don't know if I'm telling the truth you can claim. Then what if I am telling you the truth? What if I am talking to you about one of the darkest days of my life and that I survived basically a hidden war behind the scenes. If you don't know a lot about surviving and coping with trauma and abuse, you may not realize how callous and disrespectful the prove it sounds. I would testify in court. I have spoken. I have written. Your welcome. For me to continue to talk to you in depth, you might introduce yourself. Because I have put myself out here and allowed myself to be subject to whatever responses I recieve. You have shared nothing about who you are. Most crimes are unreported and difficult to prove. If you want the real story why don't you ask Joaquin? Or Sam? Or is that to hard to do? Why don't you do something hard?

It's wrong to play a 911 call of Joaquin asking for help for his brother. Anything for money I guess. I don't agree with River's social issues, but he would've been just as or more famous than Leo. I'll give him that.

It's been 30 years since this brilliant, sensitive being died but they didn't reveal the truth about what happened that tragic night. Many of you may know that River refused the leading role in the film "The Crow" which we all know the plot but very few know that through this film, there was a plot against him: as a matter of fact the story of Eric Draven was sewn around the character of River Phoenix, but no one noticed since the part was played by Brandon Lee, who agreed to take River's role. River refused the part because he knew the intentions of those who had interest in hurting him and he was well aware that some "strange accident" could happen to him if he accepted that role. In fact, in the film they would have staged his death: the strange accident, however, did happen to his replacement, Brandon. No need to remember the episode that cost Lee's life on the set of the same movie, apparently he too was a target, but that's another story... Brandon's death also caused great dismay and sorrow. In "The Crow", Eric Draven (River), is a band leader, singer and guitar player who is murdered on Halloween night (in the film called devil's night). Both Eric Draven and River die on a sidewalk although in different ways. Brandon Lee and River Phoenix both died in 1993, both on day 31st (Brandon on March 31st). The crow as bird was used as symbol of death, antagonistic to the Phoenix, which symbolizes rebirth. In fact, the scene of the crow drawn with fire was emblematic. With all these "coincidences", it is very difficult to believe that River Phoenix death was his own fault and on Halloween, in fact several witnesses declared that they saw John Frusciante handing River a glass and as River ingested the drink he said: "what the hell is this?" The local police said that they had received several reports from witnesses who claimed that Frusciante had poisoned River but these testimonies were never disclosed in the main sources of informations. Frusciante was probably asked to pass River the glass but the question is: Who was the one preparing the mixture, asking Frusciante to give it to River? That person should've been held responsible and served prison time, instead after 30 years we're still here listening to most of the sources saying that River wanted to take the drugs, being the only one responsible for his own death. The well-known director/actor William Richert who also worked with River in "my own private Idaho" has declared (the video can be found on KZbin) that River was killed by a guitar player. William, who has known River for 7 years, firmly stated that River did not use drugs other than smoking a little weed every now and then. After River's death, Leonardo DiCaprio took his place in the film roles that River had signed up for. James Cameron himself said that he carefully created the role of Jack Dawson for no one but River years before the Titanic was made. DiCaprio become good, but nobody could even come close to River's talent, everyone would fade beside him. Eyewitnesses declared without any doubt that DiCaprio was present at the viper room that night. I wish they would disclose the true story of what happened to River but I don't think they ever will because the hidden power that pulls the strings behind the film industry and the mainstream media want people to think of him as a drug addict and not as a multi-talented activist, who inspired the consciences and hearts of his fans with his altruism towards the planet, animals and human beings, fighting for everyone's rights and donating various funds to many causes. It is astounding and inspiring if you think that when he was just a kid, in the midst of financial difficulties, he played his guitar on the streets to make some money so he could help his family.. and he was still very young when he donated funds to humanitarian causes. Money meant nothing to him, he walked around in modest clothing and rubber shoes like converse refusing to wear leather because he was against the killing of any animal. Among other things, he had purchased several acres in Costa Rica to preserve the planet from deforestation. To this day, I don't know another celebrity who had such kindness and sensitivity as River Phoenix, especially at such young age. Similar virtues do not belong to people with the mental problems the media said he had, usually people who suffer from those disorders are empty. The system didn't want the world to be inspired by River's good actions hence they put a label on him so there wouldn't be any glory for him. But they were wrong: people all over the world love River very much and they're still fondly inspired by his actions and sensitivity even many years after his death. John Lennon was also an anti-system activist very committed to boycotting the war. Do you think John was really shot by one of his fans? 🤨 C'mon now.. When they decide to eliminate a celebrity, you can be sure that there will be accidental overdoses, findings in bathtubs or even fatal injuries caused by unlikely killers... A vegan boy like River, who dies like that, it already raises doubts... he may have had a childhood filled up with challenges, but he always had a deep bond and harmony with his family like he said himself in many interviews. I hope never to see again the image of a beautiful soul like River, stained and torn to pieces by false news passed as official. If people keep watching the documentaries produced by the same TV lobbies that covered up the evidences, they will never discover the real facts. Fight for the truth, ask yourself questions, inquire and put together as many clues as possible, You'll be able to unravel the truth. Make the choices of these pioneers count! Remember their courage and pure heart. Only like this we can give the right value to the memory that River left of himself. To those who will read: thank you.

Thank you for this and I do agree. River was an old soul way way ahead of his time from lifestyle to talent and vision.

He was not 'clean living' or even thinking. He lived a Lie, his last words if correct were typical, he didn't want to be exposed. He was a chain Smoker, told interviewers not to tell. He was not an innocent, he often looked sly. Whatever, he paid for his foolishness & Really Lousy Choice of 'friends.' With 'friends' like his, he didn't need enemies. Who got his money? The mother & her toy boy? Not a tragic end, a sordid one.

People blame it on that "random drink" because there is actual evidence that he did drink it. His autopsy shows no signs that he snorted drugs, but shows he had approx 200mls of fluid in his stomach. Plus River's girlfriend, who was there that night, told people she saw River drink from a cup then he suffered a bad reaction from it shortly after.

Heroin is extremely bitter and has a strong vinegar odor. It would be difficult to mask the taste in a drink. Heroin also has terrible oral bioavailability, so there would have to be a significant quantity in the drink to OD him.

@sharonrigs7999 Жыл бұрын
@bridgetfitzgerald5393 Nope. Read my above comment. Along with the strong unpleasant tastes and odors, heroin needs heat and sometimes a strong acid to be water soluble. Especially with the Mexican ' Black Tar ' heroin common in Southern California. His mouth would be totally numb from the cocaine which also has a distinct odor that a regular user would recognize in an instant. Finally, absolutely NO ONE takes coke and heroin orally as it is a total waste.
