@@elizabethwilk9615 Greetings Mrs. Wilk, my name is Benito González García. First and foremost thank you for your kind words that you have shown to one of Mexico's all-time greatest singers Don Vicente Chente Fernández. It really means a lot to Mexicans. I salute you. Madame, may I please know what is your earliest memory and/or history with my country of México, with Mexicans or with Mexican culture as far back as you can possibly remember as a child or teenager in your native country? In other words how did you first learn about México, or Mexicans growing up? Perhaps your very first knowledge of México or Mexican culture was learned in school, or from watching television, or listening to the radio or perhaps it was your parents or other family members or friends who first introduced you to anything relating to México? Or perhaps your very first knowledge about México occurred in some other way? The reason for asking you all these strange questions is because we as Mexicans are by far the most culturally patriotic people for our country, for our culture and for our history more so than any other nationality on Earth. Trust me on this our love for México is like a religion for us it is that extreme. However... At the same time we are deeply ashamed and embarrassed of our corrupt Mexican government which is mostly responsible for all of Mexico's problems such as our poverty, organized crime and lack of good employment opportunities. This is partly why millions of Mexicans have migrated to the United States for over a century. Unfortunately, the Mexican government is still too powerful to overthrow for now. But the current government is doing a decent job at the moment. But all the negative things about México is for another time. As a result of our extreme patriotism, we absolutely love when when we see people from other countries that have any personal interest in our country, in our people or in our culture. In your personal case with our legendary Mexican singer Don Vicente Chrnte Fernández. Seeing people from other nationalities that have any personal interest in our country, or in our people or in our culture brings us much more patriotism, joy, honor and means more to us than you can possibly imagine. It's that important to us. This is why I'm asking you all these strange questions. Again, I would truly appreciate your honest responses to all of my questions. Thank you for your time and for your patience with me. God bless you Mrs. Wilk. Respectfully, Benito González García

Thank You GMA for presenting this. I watch glimpses of your show every morning and was hoping to see this news live. I missed it but glad I found it on here. Vicente really is a King. I grew up going to his concerts at 4 years old with my grandmother and brother in Mexico. He would sit us in the front row and dedicate songs to us as my brother would write letters to him. My love for Spanish/ Ranchera music is because of him. As John said, he impacted the lives of all Latin families. As a Mexican-American I wanted to see this news on my favorite show, GMA!

What a Legend! There will be no one who will ever reimplant him, infact I don't think there will ever be one . He was 2 in 1 musician and actor . The way he expressed his feelings when he sang, anybody could relate to it.There was no fake acting here. Que empaz descanse Chente. 🙏🙏🙏

When I hear his music it reminds me of the good days we had, my grandparents would dance in the kitchen to his music, my mother would console herself to his music, and at funerals many family members would get a mariachi band and they would play his music. RIP Señor Vicente... Thank you for the music 🎶💓

Thank you so much John for that piece. It really is a big loss for those of us in the hispanic community. I grew up listening to his music because my parents would listen to him when I was growing up. They too are from Jalisco like he was and we love our musica ranchera as most people from Mexico do:) He'll be missed and there won't be another like him. Like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, Celia Cruz, etc. no one will fill their shoes. RIP Chente
