Despite emerging from tiny Amherst College, Alex Bernstein had a typical NFL career. He bounced around as a backup for the better part of four seasons before suffering a career-ending injury. What he met upon leaving the NFL was a fight with teams for the benefits that would allow him to live a normal life.
