This is sad and never forgotten. It's glaring on her resume too where she should have had 1st place win at the X-Games. Saw on another website some idiot wrote: "The lesson she learned from this is more valuable than the win". BULLSHIT! A win at x-games translates into sponsors and money... Ask Shawn White... Ask Tony Hawk. This girl f'd up and will NEVER forget it. We also know who the real winner was... and it wasn't Vicki Golden who won it a 3rd year in a row... it was Rutledge who lost, BIG difference.

Premonition by the announcers 5:28, that stutter. You could see it coming by the awkwardness of the bike.

Took her hand off throttle, compression braking the rear wheel and causing the front end to dive. The brakes and motor are used to control the attitude of the bike in the air. She was headed for an end over end if she hadn't grabbed a handfull of throttle at the last moment.

That was a great race by Vicki Golden. I keep watching the other "early celebration" videos but this was ALL Vicki Golden. She was meant to win it battling as she did in this race.
