As a veteran of 20+ years of work in a correctional setting, I've seen numerous examples of officers going beyond the call of duty. From men having relationships with inmates' mothers, to those never passing a drug screen, it's just sad that we have come to this. How do you fix this? One, we need to reform the criminal code. A person like White would've undoubtedly been in prison. But, there are many individuals who don't belong there, and it stretches resources to the max and causes the institution to hire individuals who should never work within the system. This woman was easily manipulated by a career criminal. She wasn't a good officer gone bad; she was a bad officer from the beginning. The system just hadn't figured it out yet.

Should women be in authority over the most violent members of our society. Every time I see a female officer engage with a violent male suspect they get beat down or they run. And in this case, they develop a romantic relationship.
@drizler2 жыл бұрын
It was the same damned thing in the 1980s with the Fed Bureau of Prisons. In the five years I work here at two prisons there was always some female officer involved with a convict . There was always one of the male officers dealing dope or other favors to the convicts! It’s just the way it is. When they’re doing their classes before you officers begin they just don’t spend enough time hammering into these peoples heads the simple fact they are convicts, CON😾. they have no real authority or ability to get those things they want so they kind people constantly and guess what they’re very good at it. They’ll tell these people anything that they think they wanna hear. The worst part is once you’ve done of one of their little favors that’s illegal no matter how small THEY OWN YOU and you then there’s the BLACKMAIL that comes after. All they have to do is rat you out you lose your job. I’ve always felt that this goes on constantly because when caught in the act ( smuggling things in ect…) in the earlier stage management almost always DOESNT PROSECUTE CRIMINALLY. The simply fire them and no one ever knows why they left outside the staff.

The whole prison *system* needs to be investigated by people who are not affiliated with the police and who have no stake in For-Profit Prison scams. We have SO many privately owned *For-Profit Prisons* now, and they rely on slave labor of the prisoners (many of whom have never committed a violent crime) to make money for the owners of the prisons. Plus,, the correctional officers of these prisons make terrible wages. Where is all the money going, as they also get government money? Into the pockets of the For-Profit Prison owners. Sorry that she passed away at the end of the day. When she developed a relationship and walked out of that prison she became a criminal. She knew what was going to happen. Sold her home then went to purchase clothes for him then at that bought her a wig for a disguise. She knew when she took that oath to uphold the law. If she would have survived they would have made an example out of her. They call officers who do things like this ducks. May her soul rest in peace and prayers to her family. 🙏🏾

@@navyboy120 all that aside, it's his prison, and every single inmate and Personnel is his responsibility. I do not blame this warden for going to the extreme to make sure this does not happen again. He didn't end up in there for being a goody two-shoes

I want to know how some boob in the Control Room or Front Entrance just let her walk out the door like that. There’s a lot more to a hospital appointment even for a low level inmate. There’s notifications via Receiving And Discharge and the duty Lieutenant or higher office. I’ve done many many of these trips myself years ago. For a murder suspect you need at least 2 armed officers with a police vehicle for transport. This whole thing simply stinks of stupidity and ineptitude on so many levels.

Sad to think this young lady's life is over. She was lonely, felt so unloved that she fell for the false promises of love and devotion from a sociopathic murderer.
