This video covers the first 3 days owning one of these Chinese mini Excavators. I have never operated an excavator. Not only did I have to learn how to operate the hoe but also how to operate on it!

I’ve got a similar unit that I’m using to kickstart my homesteading adventures! I put a TMK 150 tree sheer on mine and was mind blown with how productive it became!

ooooh wow that looks like fun!

I love excavators with a Kickstarter. 😁

It's not an orb fitting but looks similar, I have not had that fitting disconnected on mine yet. It's probably a metric port which has a free washer and oring, there nothing wrong with these, washer creates a void that the oring fills to seal. If the oring is too large diameter, it will squish into the washer before the washer has seated. The orb is sae threads and needs a void in the female side the oring squishes into. @KDFarm1919

I just bought the same type machine new, with cab, at auction, so thanks for doing this trouble shooting video. That bad engine oil quality was something. They must be shipping with used oil because those B&S motors are not bad for contamination. I think I'll drain and replace the hydraulic fluid before using also. I think a fatter Buna-N Nitrile o-ring would help with the extrusion issue.

you are welcome! Good luck with it. I still have to use starting fluid for cold starts, my throttle lever pretty much came apart but I still can wedge it in place but it pops out and drops rpms occasionally and the tracks need to be cleaned and kept tight or they pop off regularly. Other than that, it is a little beast around the property and I don't regret buying it!

I had a Takeuchi TB108. The biggest drawback with these small machines is the short reach. It was a great little machine though.

very true, you have to get pretty close to the edge sometimes!

I have 58 hours on mine. No trouble. I did reverse the controls to backhoe style. I just don't like how it wants to die under load. It doesn't have a bypass. But it sure is handy if you're patient with it.

Agreed!

i was hoping to see what the new oil looked like after that run
@KDFarm19195 ай бұрын
Well now the throttle cable is broke so it is sitting until I can get that repaired. I will run it a few more hours and change the oil again.

@9:50 how was the traction in that mud? I'm shocked it didn't get stuck.
@KDFarm19195 ай бұрын
It is mostly sand and river stones/pea gravel material in the stream. Still got it stuck a bunch of times but you can work the machine out of the mess. Take your time.

Looks like it would be good for taking out beaver dams!

Im looking at getting the same machine. What happened with the throttle cable?
@KDFarm19195 ай бұрын
It was frozen. The temp here plummeted. As it warmed up the cable freed up. I adjusted it and it works fine now.

I'm thinking about buying one. Did you buy it through their US website and have it shipped to your house?

I found mine on Craigslist. The guy bought 3 at an auction and sold 2 of them.

Mine has the same pump, just had to change the same o ring l did same as you screwed the 90 degree fitting in as far as I could before tightening the nut, l did have abour 50 houts on it before it started leaking so see what happens
@KDFarm19194 ай бұрын
Good luck! Mine has not leaked since the last repair

How many hours you put on? You happy so far
@KDFarm19193 ай бұрын
My battery switch doesnt turn off the hour meter lol! I do like it, even with all it's quirks. It does a great job for what I need.

I am by no means an hydraulic expert but in my experience with ORB fittings. The fitting on your pump you shouldnt sandwich the oring between two washers. Should be just one on the outside oring gets pressed into housing.
@KDFarm1919Ай бұрын
Makes sense. It hasn't leaked since but I might look for a different hose fitting next time it does!

Lower your throttle the movement will be less jerky
@KDFarm19193 ай бұрын
lol unfortunately the throttle lever came apart so I have to wedge it in place so I just deal with it.
@TF8562 ай бұрын
With practice the jerking should go way down.

Is this the Rato motor?
@KDFarm19194 ай бұрын
I believe so. I don't see any Briggs labels on it.
@jeffreydunham27985 ай бұрын
You are running too much throttle. drop it down to half throttle.
@KDFarm19195 ай бұрын
Thanks I will give that a try
@ryanclarke21612 ай бұрын
I think some of the footage is speed up so it sounds fun y
@TF8562 ай бұрын
Slowing down the RPM might be fine for learning or doing very fine detailed work, but it's a bad habit to do when doing production work. After a while you learn to do the very fine detailed work at full throttle and you don't waste time changing the throttle up and down.

I would not want an excavator with backhoe controls. And I prefer cat patern.

This is my first digging type of machine, I don't know any better! :)

Its break in oil. Stop feeding internet lies.
@KDFarm19194 ай бұрын
I don't care if it was break in oil or whale lard. This video was to show others who are interested in buying one of these machines what I encountered so far. I mentioned what I was hearing when I researched these machines and showed what I was seeing.
