Very informative video of the island of Bora Bora. Magnificent scenic video of the lagoon although the climate with a temperature of 56 degrees C and a relative humidity of 100% makes it very uncomfortable. It is amazing that the guns after all these years appear to be in such good condition with very little rust on it.

+Michael Friedman Hi Michael, the guns were indeed in perfect condition, thank you for viewing my videos...

These mighty guns are really awesome the size and position of guns itself define the strategic importance of Bora Bora .

I did my honeymoon in Tahiti/Bora Bora, and know for a fact that (at least back in 1990) there is/was another cannon on the western side of the island overlooking Motu Tapu & the pass into Bora Bora. I saw it myself.

You are right, I found them all later on...

@@VicStefanu Pretty amazing sight. My newly-minted wife and I climbed up through the overgrown brush and bushes and trees until we stumbled across it... or maybe there were 2. Can't remember if we found another in that area.

Sometime in the late 70's or early 80's we went to Bora Bora & on a Scooter ride around the island came across a very large gun with an equally large anchor on some flat land adjacent to a few buildings. Presumably (after watching your video), both are now gone. Absolutely the BEST place we have ever visited! Don & Mary

Yes, I think that the guns that you are referring to are now gone.. I only found two locations with guns on Bora Bora and both locations are detailed in separate videos on my channel...

Hi Vic, do you know of the location of the WW II Navy PBY crash that was found on a Island, it was found when a road was being constructed, the PBY had flown into a hill side, the local people kept the remains of the crew until they were turned over to the US. This was on the local TV news a few years ago. Cactus24 Pennsylvania

I was in Kiribati (from the Battle of Tarawa) where American personnel were excavating a PBY very close to the beach, are you referring to this one??
@CACTUS486 жыл бұрын
No, this was on a Island hillside, jungle setting, on the news a few years ago...

+Jay Young I am not sure who painted it on the gun... Somehow I missed it during videotaping it and I saw it when I first reviewed the video in my room, too late to do anything about it I am afraid...
