This was a really good piece… it wasn’t rushed and really captured the devastation each of these individual persons is feeling. From losing a close knit community who shared meals and shopping trips together, to the loss of Boo Boo, and for those who didn’t have as many possessions, but still lost everything they had.

The mom hugging the firefighters had me in tears. Let’s be real though. The wealthy are suffering yes, but they can rebuild. Everyone is not experiencing this the same. The wealthy are in nice hotels or second homes making plans. The not wealthy are on the streets, not knowing what to do next. My heart goes out to all. But it’s fact that this hits harder for some

A lot of people who purchased their homes 10,15, and 20 years ago when home prices were far cheaper than today won't be able to afford to rebuild and will become lifelong renters. Imagine someone who purchased their home 6 years ago at a 3% interest rate and has completely lost their home.

Most greed is a reaction to fear. The most bullied and tormented kids grow up to the cruelest and richest. Don’t we kinda get what we deserve? Now the kids that get ostracized by their peers bring arms to school… moral of the story is to treat everyone with compassion. No one has much to say about the shooters, do they? “Uhhh we all basically didnt talk to him, so we dont know”……..
@forestyogin2218
@forestyogin2218 4 сағат бұрын
Yes, but we were all born the exact same . . . then things were done to them that changed them to be selfish, aggressive, or whatever. We need to be situationally aware of any situation, and we also need to forgive selfish people, and the people who made them selfish, and the chain that pre-esists this. Because fundamentally we ARE the same. It is easier for you if you remain situationally aware, and forgive the chain of unnatural influence on that selfish person. Then, in time, the "same" may return in that person. When somebody else hurts, I hurt. We are inseparable in the primary nature.

I think it speaks more to what commonalities can still be found between people we perceive as different from us. Of course there are people who are motivated by things we deem bad, and are forced to abandon or never had the morals that keep most of us treating each other with dignity and respect. But events like this are humanizing everyone affected and it's bringing to light just how similar we are. Even the people you deem as bad may be more similar to you than you want to believe, and that doesn't mean you (or them even) are bad deep down

@@MrStrange1984 I listened to a 25 year firefighter talk about this today. He said in a situation like this, they should have used salt water… because salt water is better than no water… and pumps on a fire truck are cheaper to replace than 10s of thousands of homes, businesses, vehicles, pets, livestock, wildlife, infrastructure, etc… not to mention people’s lives. If saltwater contaminates the soil, why are the Canadian water bombers scooping up and pouring seawater onto the fires? One was suspiciously taken out by a drone… Don’t just repeat something for which you have no knowledge. Do some research.

Greedy Materialistic, is it what you really matter to you now?
@VictoriaHall930

@mohamedhasan318 People can value both material and non-material things at the same time. Sentimental items, like keepsakes from loved ones or childhood treasures, often carry deep emotional meaning and can feel heartbreaking to lose-just as losing a home is profoundly tragic. If a fireproof safe can help preserve those irreplaceable memories, it’s a small but meaningful way to protect what matters most. Why not take that step if it offers even a bit of comfort in difficult times?

@@willswalkingwest7267 it's the dry vegetation that catches fire in the "woods" behind the houses. those mountains and canyons have been awfully dry/dead in areas. compared to the trees in the neighborhoods that gardeners and homeowners attend to regularly.

His weekend million-dollar home. So many had just a small house, that was living paycheck to paycheck. The maids, groundskeepers, maintenance workers, pet sitters, personal cooks and all the wild animals. I cry for them. People that have ripped off the people to attain their wealth. I do not shed a tear.

I am from Serbia, and even though the US had bombed my country in 1999, I feel very sad and I feel very sorry for these poor people who have lost everything. The most important thing is to be alive, to be mentally strong. Material things can be replaced. Memories will stay with you, even though you've lost photos. Slowly you will rebuild and your Government, both state and federal, will help you, and I am sure many countries in the world will help, if the US asks for help. God bless all those people who have lost loved ones, or have lost their pets or homes. I am deeply saddened by the LA tragedy... If this happened in a country like the United States, which is big, rich, and strong, imagine how much worse it would have been in countries that are smaller and poorer. God bless you all, this is devastating but you will recover.
