Why did you say we know Jade was supposed to go through the tree and not Tabitha? Is it because Christopher was the one the Boy in White approached to go to tree instead of Miranda?

The twist will be that Tabitha and Jade are the original couple, not the last. The past lives are all iterations that failed to remember the memories of the children sacrificed and could never break the cycle. This cycle is different because they are remembering the truth from the delusions and fantasies they have lived in. Therefore, they are returning to their true self. The iterations have been turning back into Tabitha and Jade.
