LoL as honest as could be if you ask me , but please make sure your glasses are safe … there come a day you won’t be welding and you will need good eyes ! I debating between buying the performer or journey men , and I not even a welder , first time, I buying a torch and I agree 12 feet of hose is stupid lol Maybe I should get the performer and 50 feet of hose. Can’t make up my mind lol Don’t really need the power of the journey men but sounds like really nice torch lol … mostly want to work with smaller metals , brazing , light welding , not really need to cut anything near 1/2 inch .. decisions lol Thanks for great video !

The book has a lot of valueable information.The regulators are indestructable and add a huge safety factor .Victor is the best.But the victor welding tips are expensive.

"But the Victor welding tips are expensive". YES THEY ARE! I nearly collapsed when I was told the price of the number 6 Rosebud Victor I purchased Looks beautiful but at the same time I would like another Ben Franklin in my pocket. I had no idea that I'd be going over $100 for this or else I would have paid the headache to drive to a Harbor Freight. I'm just a shade tree guy and the Victor is going to run out of warranty do the time before I use the rosebud 5 times I bet.

@@michaeldunagan8268I have the same kit, crapped my BVD's on the welding tips, wow, the cutting tips not to bad, don't waste your time with Amazon Chinese junk, welding tips are cheap, they don't hold up, one wouldn't seal. better off buying once.

Do you know where this kit is made at? Thanks

I wish I had your number for Rosebud in exchange for my number 6 Rosebud so my tank would last longer. Generic sunglasses are not strong enough to keep out the brightest flames from shooting ultraviolet light damaging your eyes. People like me use a 12 ft hose: shade tree mechanic working on his own car cuz he can't afford to hire mechanics and working on his own semi tractor because no mechanics are ever available. I like not having to roll up an additional 13 feet of hose.

That what they make hose couplers for, times I need it short in my little sheadshop others 75' away 😉👍

I agree the 12’ hose is a joke and has no place in an otherwise decent kit. Think that hose is also only 3/16??

I just ordered this set last night, I was wondering if you have added flash arrestors yet, and if you had any trouble getting a longer set of hoses with the 3/16" hose? Last question, I have some 1 1/2" steel plate to cut do you think that cutting tip will be able to handle it? Thanks from a fellow KZbinr!

I don’t use flash arrestors. I also don’t use 3/16 hose all my hoses are 1/4”. I am not sure what size tip they give you it’s been a while but I am pretty sure it won’t cut 1 1/2” plate. For that thickness your going to need a 2 or 3 tip and the oxygen cranked up.

How to you like it so far ? And are the 2.0 Gauges great ?
@RedDirtWelding3 жыл бұрын
The acetylene gauge messed up on me but it was just the gauge and not the regulator. The gauge it stuck from time to time. But they are also on the back of a truck going down a lot of dirt roads and are always outside. So far I am very happy with them.
