0:31 I thought he'll take a pull up 3, so did his defender. that was one heck of a read. to all the naysayers of his 3 point game - this is what he's unlocking with becoming a better 3-point shooter. you don't want to see him shoot near 40%
@minovictor2 сағат бұрын
Hell of a pass I wonder how late into the pass sochan realised it was actually a pass. Aside from him shooting well, pump fakes definitely get defenders jumping more when you have a slow(er) jumpshot. And why wembys pump fakes look so convincing. Same with Joel embiid in the midrange. Even haliburton to some extent, might be something to do with the fact they don’t usually elevate much either. When it’s a quick jumpshot your brain kind of knows “I’m out of position anyway but I’ll close out just in case”. When it’s a slow ass jumpshot or pump fake it’s like it gives the defenders brain a little bit too much time to process it. Kinda like a really well timed cross over where the ball handler switches direction just when the defenders brain has had time to process the move in the other direction.
@pranavmanie14792 сағат бұрын
@minovictor one other player that does the slow pump fake really well is Luka. I mean he generally plays at a slower pace than the average point guard, but still, very convincing pump fake
@minovictorСағат бұрын
@@pranavmanie1479 yeah Luka is a perfect example of what I meant. A combination of the slow gather and the fact they don’t elevate much when they actually do shoot, so that first part will look really convincing. For players with quicker more normal jumpshots, they can’t just do half their jumpshot without travelling. It’s usually just the really quick up motion with the head fake. But with the other guys mentioned they can go through literally 60% of their jumpshot without commiting to it since it takes them 3 years to gather the ball and leave their feet
@pranavmanie1479Сағат бұрын
@@minovictor sign of great upper body strength. agree with you on most of it, but I think there are quite a lot of players with quicker jumpshots who make elite pump fakes. Klay is my favorite in that category - also because he has the best shooting form ever imo

Spurs played without a pointguard. CP3 got ejected in the 1st quarter, Tre Jones and Castle both out with injuries. Their 6th man Keldon and back-up center Collins are also out. Wemby had to play pointguard as well as center for this game. Shout-out to Blake Wesley tho for the game-high in assists.

NBA has to fix the soft league. NFL is ratings king for a reason. Bring back defense, toughness. Get rid of soft refs. Cut the regular season to 40 games. Eliminate the 4 weak franchises to concentrate talent. No one can win awards including all nba unless they play 80% of the games. All this will eliminate load management.

Anyone can put up those kind of numbers, did he win a playoff game did he go to the finals, all that matters when looking at a value of a player.
Is he only playing his 2nd season at the age of 19? Was the personnel anywhere close to being good enough to get this team to the Playoffs last season? Is the game played 5 on 5? It's about efficiency, how's pretty damn efficient if you ask anyone but yourself.
